3rd John 1:2: “Beloved I WILL above ALL THINGS, that you be in good health and PROSPER, the same way your soul prospers.”

And yes, He did live in Capernaum. May I ask why you would say that, if it clearly says He did? Take a look …

Matt 4:13: Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in CAPERNAUM which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali

It’s a well known fact that Capernaum was an affluent, lakefront community.

You are correct in saying that He had no place to lay His head as written in Matthew 8:20. But this is AFTER HE WENT INTO MINSTRY – because He was traveling constantly. And of course many people invited him to dinner and gave Him goods! But He was never poor. True scripture defies this notion. Take a look…
  1. The Mesopotamians gave Him GOLD “from their treasures”. Notice, it wasn’t from their “sloppy left-overs”. So we know He was rich as a child.
  2. Then He was gainfully employed as a Carpenter - and because He was the Son of God, no doubt He was a GREAT CARPENTER. (Unless we’re gonna’s allege that He was a slacker?)
  3. We also know that He was rich at death, because Roman soldiers gambled for His clothing. Take a look …
John 19:23: When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares…This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

Archeologically speaking, a seamless garment was very difficult to weave back then. Ask Jewish Historians, Thus they were very costly … So costly in fact that foreign soldiers gambled for it and then cut it into 4 pieces because it would get them good money on the market.

Further, there was ONLY ONE MAN that Jesys told to sell all his possessions – it was not everyone! Remember how Jesus said to him that he had “one thing lacking”? The man had a problem with GREED.

My dear, it was ON THE CROSS that Jesus was poor. In life, He had wealth. In fact, wealth barged in on Him “uninvited” the night He was born! HA!

Cheer up, you’re allowed to have money! Money is good! Money takes care of our kids and puts them through school. OUr tithes and offerings also pays for missionary work across the globe.

So don’t forget … He WILLS above ALL THINGS … that we PROSPER and be in GOOD HEALTH … the same way our soul prospers. Sk.

That’s a presumption on your part. Scripture does not say that the gifts were kept. How do you know that they weren’t donated to the poor?

Sorry, but the well known facts are that Roman soldiers gambled for EVERY criminals garments. Also you’re looking past what the seamless garment means. It represents unity. Not the grandeur of the Son of Man. He taught to not treasure worldly things. Why would he contradict this by flaunting expensive threads?

Sorry, I thought we had talked before! Okay, here’s the thing … if you want to say things that aren’t true, that’s on you.

But it’s too late ! ! The whole world already knows the truth. Further, if you like poverty, you can have that too. No one should ever stand in the way of you and your poverty.

Again, we already know what Christ and the Apostles said about money and health, and we already know that Christ was wealthy. So it’s too late. (Next time, try not to sound so angry. There’s no reason for that, especially when the proof is right there, okay?)

You have completely misunderstood me. I don’t believe Jesus taught that we should all be poor. However, you are standing on an island when you claim that everyone knows Jesus was rich. I would like to see how many people agree with you on that point. My guess would be zero.

God calls all Christians to not misuse the funds they have avaiable, or to have a love of money.
Some are called to take vows of poverty.
All are called to do God’s Will, rather than their own, or another’s. Exception are those who bind themselves to a Superior.
The Pope must be accepted as being right when speaking infalliably.
Only One Pope has done so back in the 50’s.Twice, both times about Mary, her Assumption bodily into Heaven and her immaculate conception.
