“It Is Well With My Soul” is my favorite hymn, too! I wish it were in Catholic hymnals. I can’t really see any problem with including it.

Check out this version too! A cappella with beautiful English choir.
I prefer the"other" translation of the text “O sacred head sore wounded”, or “I sacred head, now wounded” better than “surrounded”.

In our UGCC parish we sing the Bortniansky version of the Cherubicon.

Holy God,We Praise Thy Name.

I know it’s probably nostalgic because I remember singing it growing up. My childhood Church was St Aloysius in Spokane and we were blessed with a glorious pipe organ in the balcony.

"Pop Goes The Weasel, to be played as my coffin is rolled out of church at the end of the Mass.

@otjm,
On the last line of the song, I can just picture you popping up out of the coffin! 🤣

There is a little bit of history behind it.

My mother absolutely wanted NO eulogy; she said that if anyone did, she would kick the side of the coffin.

There was NO euology.

No one dared.

“Rejoice, O Isaiah” (sung in the Orthodox wedding service)

Rejoice, O Isaiah! The Virgin is with child
And shall bear a son Emmanuel
He is both God and Man
And Orient is His name
Magnifying Him we call the Virgin blessed.

O Holy Martyrs,
Who fought the good fight and have received your crowns
Entreat ye the Lord that He will have mercy on our souls.

Glory to Thee, O Christ God!
The Apostles’ boast, the Martyrs’ joy!
Whose preaching was the Consubstantial Trinity.

My dd is in church choir. A different church then ours. Long story…lol.

But I heard Hallelujah, Hallelujah sung with correct words and it floored me during practice. You know the shrek song. But different words.

Mary did you know, During lent
Holy God we praise Thy name before Benediction
Faith of our Fathers,Holy Faith Easter vigil.

Before bed after rosary I love Divine Mercy Chaplet in song under my pillow.

The BEST is CHANT

Hail, bright star of ocean,
God’s own Mother blest,
Ever sinless Virgin,
Gate of heavenly rest.

Taking that sweet Ave
Which from Gabriel came,
Peace confirm within us,
Changing Eva’s name.

Break the captives’ fetters,
Light on blindness pour,
All our ills expelling,
Every bliss implore.

Show thyself a Mother;
May the Word Divine,
Born for us thy Infant,
Hear our prayers through thine.

Virgin all excelling,
Mildest of the mild,
Freed from guilt, preserve us,
Pure and undefiled.

Keep our life all spotless,
Make our way secure,
Till we find in Jesus,
Joy forevermore.

Through the highest heaven
To the Almighty Three,
Father, Son and Spirit,
One same glory be. Amen.
