If someone has a legitimate question they should be treated with all charity. But it is not true that if someone preaches a doctrine contrary to what has been handed down that they should be treated the same. They should be handed over to Satan for the destruction of their flesh. They are anathema and should be quickly evicted. Cast out from conversation.

At least, that’s what our Bible says should happen…

I think we preach the Good News. That if you repent and turn away from sin, you will be forgiven. Even heretics!

Well, all I can say, is that the only person that can hand themselves over to satan is that person his/herself. We cannot, nor can we judge the eternal destiny of these people.

A lot of the people on here are discussing. Some are proselytizing. It makes a good faith booster to some, though, who want to verify their faith in light of another philosophy. They may find a good way to refute the other doctrines.

The Bible also says about not casting your pearls before swine. If it doesn’t work, ignoring and leaving it to God is the best deal.

The only time I’ve seen our bible saying we should turn people over to Satan was when there was a member of the early church (a Catholic) who purposely and knowingly slept with his own mother/mother in law. Not only did he do so, he paraded it around and people bragged about it to others as if they should be proud of it.

[bibledrb]1 Corinthians 5:1-5[/bibledrb]

There is nothing wrong with asking questions. Nor is it wrong to post the wrong doctrine, as long as you as a Catholic are doing it to learn if it is right or wrong. Now as to turning over those who are not Catholic who post the wrong doctrine? What does Paul say at the end of 1 Corinthians 5?

[bibledrb]1 Corinthians 5:12-13[/bibledrb]

Paul himself preached to those who were outside and argued in the synagogues and even the temples in Rome. It is our job to talk with them about these doctrines and show the truth, not to expel them and ignore them. How else will you ever convert anyone?
