Posture at the Pater Noster

Our congregation seems to be of two minds when the priest intones the Pater Noster at High Mass on Sunday. Some remain kneeling and some stand until the mixture of the Body and Blood.

Is there reason to prefer one of those postures?

The rubrics for High Mass in the 1960 missal (and prior missals for outside Advent, Lent, Passiontide, Ember days, vigils and requiems) require the liturgical choir to stand at the Pater. It was deemed laudable for the congregation to follow this as well. In some places, it was required.

I would guess that this difference arises because some people follow the above, and others retain the posture they would for a low Mass
 
Technically there are no rubrics for the congregation, so if you prefer to kneel then kneel. Same goes for standing.
