Those are kind of my thoughts.Ditto.
But I have had people tugging at my wrist while I am in prayer so that* they *can hold hands during the prayer, even though others may not want the same. And I have gotten a furious gazes when I abstain from it. I mean no offense.
I often wonder where this comes from. It seems to sow a seed of discord. :
There is nothing that prohibits the holding of hands, but that does not mean that someone should be going into Mass with the expectation that the person next to them will feel the need\desire to hold hands during the Lord’s Prayer. And it certainly should not mean that one should be poking, proding or nudging the person next to them in an effort to get them to hold hands.
