Yes I know.
I just told you that.
How is it different from what can be done with any other state under Article IV section 3? (Other than the fact that Texas is limited to 4 while there are no limits on the other 50 states)

Every state has the right to maintain a Maritime state defense forces and or a Naval militia. IIRC 6 do so
Texas is no different than any other state

You keep saying that but repetition does not make it so.

Texas tried to secede without the approval of Congress and that attempt failed.
Might makes right, eh?😃

If you’ve been following this thread, you see we have at least one participant who does.
Ok, just so long as it isn’t me! Whew!
I was talking about the person who keeps saying that secession is grounds for war.
Ok, Because I sure didn’t mean to say that if they just simply wanted to try something else (like dump a corrupt immoral government and form their own appropriate one).

I just felt like that commment was directed at me 'cause you quoted me.

No, I’m just talking about those who fantzcize re-fighting the Civil War. Of course, they fantacize other people doing the actual fighting – you won’t find one of them crossing the wheat field at Gettysburg or the bridge at Fredericksburg.😛

Sometimes.

A law is useless it can be enforced.
Why else would we give our cops guns?
Why else would we guard our borders?
Why else does a Judge have a Bailiff standing beside him?

If you can’t distinguish between lawful authority and bullying that is your problem.

And since you didn’t answer any of my points but merely raised your typical tangent with a smilie then you agree that Texas has no special rights that other states do not enjoy.

I’m just curious - given the divide that the US is in today, how likely or unlikely that we could, given 5,10,20,30,40,50 years from now, we could go through another civil war? Who would the sides be? Which states would suceed?
Believe it or not there is a growing successionist movement in Vermont. I guess they want to establish the People’s Republic of Vermont with Bernie Sanders as the new Fuhrer.🤷

Let me see – I have pointed out that Texas does indeed have special rights – It can keep a navy and can split into 5 smaller states.

And you have agreed that might makes right.😛

And all of this in pursuit of a fantasy about killing your fellow Americans for disagreeing with you and wanting to separate.
