Practices = Doctrines of Discipline?

Hi yall,

I commonly refer to Church practices and rules as “doctrines of discipline.” I don’t remember if I made this term up, or if I got it from somewhere. Here’s a few questions:

1. Is it proper to reference Church practices and rules as “doctrines of discipline?”
2. Has anyone heard the phrase “Doctrines of Discipline?” Where did you hear it from?
3. Is there any other name by which Church “practices” and “rules” are called?

No, I would not say this is an accurate term.

No.

Canon Law, Church law, traditions, devotions… etc.
