Praise be to God--SABER'S BACK!

OH MY GOSH EVERYONE…SABER’S BACK!!!

We were all looking at a website for cat breeders in our area…and the doorbell rang. My husband was like…who could be at the door at this hour? He said that one of our neighbors said that he thinks our cat is on his porch (2 houses down)…so we went outside just now, in the back…and lo and behold, it was Saber!!! I cried. DD cried. My dh looked like he could cry. lol We are soooo happy! I can’t even express the relief I feel.

Get this, our neighbor said he went on his porch just now, and Saber crawled out from underneath his grill!!! I wonder if he had been there very long?

OH MY – I’M SO HAPPY!!! Ok, tomorrow, I make an appt at the vet to have him fixed! And for a good checkup too. He looks a little …I dunno…bewildered. Skittish–is this normal for a cat that’s run away and come home? :confused: He wasn’t happy to see the other kitty in our house. 😦 The kitty we have been feeding, we let in and out tonight, well he came back in and we thought we would keep him again overnight…I felt bad, because Saber really swung at him. So, we had to let the other kitty out. My dh said he probably is used to it…he actually wanted to go out. The newer kitty…he didn’t like staying in for very long. I wish I could keep them both in the house, but I think that the other kitty would have more danger IN our house with Saber, than outside!

Ugh–so happy. PRAISE BE TO GOD. And thank you for your prayers…they brought Saber home to us. Really. Thank you.🙂 :grouphug:

You know what’s weird about all of this? My dh just said to Saber…‘you were one day away from being replaced by a kitten.’ Well, no one would ever replace him. But, it’s almost like God stopped that from happening. I dunno.

I’m so happy…I can’t stand it! There’s just something about Saber…can’t explain it. :heaven:

I am so happy for you guys!!! I think that “bewildered” look he’s sporting is gosh I am so sorry…
 
I knooowwww—I’m sitting here typing, and he is right at my feet…ALMOST as if nothing happened.

He looked at us when he saw us on our neighbor’s porch…and didn’t even attempt to run…and when we opened the door to let the other kitty out …he ran up the stairs and looked back down…in fear. So…maybe…he didn’t enjoy the time away all that much…maybe he is different from the rest. lol

Well…who cares…he’s BACK! :extrahappy:
 
Thank you yellowbird…I think he is sorry. He sat in front of my dh…and just stared at him. And then he came over to me and sat on my feet like he does. Just staring up. Awwww!

I am in shock…I guess I gave up hope too quickly…just didn’t think we would see him again.😦
 
When my dog had run out the door and was gone for several hours he came back with that same “bewildered” look… I know just what you mean. I wished so badly he could tell me where he had been?!! I can’t imagine if he had been gone as long as Saber?! We had our dog “fixed” shortly thereafter and never ran away again.

Sabar’s gonna sleep good tonight! There’s no place like home! 👍
 
HOORAY!!! I’m so glad for you and your family. DH & I have been praying for Saber’s safe return. Now we’ll move on to THANK YOU!

Well if he finds that out he’ s subject to run away again.

Glad he’s home. I told ya he hadn’t gone anywhere.😛

Oh, yay, I’m so happy for all of you. 😃

Bewildered and skittish? Absolutely, he’s still trying to process how big and scarey that outside place is 😛 and he’s surprised to find home is still there and the same after all his experiences 😉 and he knows he should say sorry but he’s a cat and cats don’t really do sorry (not even in the confessional 😉 )

Maybe you now have an inside Sabre and an outside Coco? Hmm, two cats 😛

I don’t suppose he brought his girlfriend back with him (maybe he got sick of her or vice versa)

If not, let me spoil it for you: humility, trust in God, and presrverance in prayer. 🙂 God always makes use of His creatures and creations to teach us lessons, for He created everything for us, and us for Himself.
 
there is probably a lesson here for us, the return of the prodigal kitty, sadder but wiser. might have him checked by the vet since he could have tangled with other critters, but sounds like he held his own, good ole Saber

Yay! He’s back!

My guess is that it was the girlfriend who got tired of him. And if there are going to be a few Saber Jr.'s running around in a couple of months then Saber was probably anxious to skip town anyways. Cats (other than lions) are pretty much deadbeat dads.

Maybe that’s why he’s looking so bewildered and skittish. He’s worried you’re going to turn him in.
 
Oh I am soooo happy. Sweet little boy - yeah go get him fixed.

Are you keeping kitten? Swipping is also part of rough play. No big deal.
 
I just turned to my dh and said, “Saber’s back!” and he said, “Oh, good!” We’ve been thinking about you and Saber, too and praying. Thanks be he is back home. And thanks to your kindly neighbor who took the time and trouble to alert you that Saber was at his house. A nice Thank You card is in order for him, yes?

By all means have Saber fixed if you don’t want him to wander, and keep him in. As for the other kitty, it may stay and become a part of your family. If it does, Saber will probably come around eventually. Cats tend to work these things out for themselves.

Again, we’re so glad to hear your good news, especially that Saber is safe and sound.
