At Mass this evening, we had an army chaplain filling in. He was amazing! Joyful, smiling and he gave a passionate homily about the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. You could have heard a pin drop.

On Friday, a priest from Ghana, who lives at our parish while studying here, gave a passionate homily about truth and self sacrifice. (feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe) He is also bold in speaking out against the culture of death.

The army chaplain must have spoken to our youth group, because our daughter has made comments about him as well.

We are so blessed to have these men nearby. 👍

When I got to Vigil tonight there were little pamphlets laying in each seat, they were about how the Eucharist is the true presence of Christ. I thought, “Maybe they’re trying to promote Eucharistic Adoration?” Then the Monsignor started the homily (usually a deacon gives it) and talks about how many Catholics don’t believe in the Real Presence. He asked “Why are you here? Did you come here just to fill an obligation? Do you think this is just a memorial? NO! If you don’t believe the absolute truth of the Gospel reading, YOU ARE NOT A REAL CATHOLIC!”
I also found out he and one of the deacons will be conducting RCIA. I am deliriously happy right now. Yeah for Monsignor M______ !!

Sounds almost like my Monsignor! I pray that mine will someday be made a bishop! He’s a good and holy man, and very wise!

We are blessed indeed. We got a new Rector at our parish about a month ago, a very young priest (maybe 32 or 33 years old). He’s such a pleasure to be around, personable enough to where you feel as though you could approach him with anything…always smiling - just a truly happy person.

Great topic! 🙂

Amen!

We’ve been getting some really good preaching lately. Not sure if the Parish realizes it yet but gives me hope for the future. We have been in the desert as far as homilies.

This popped up at the same time I was lauding my Pastor! What a happiness!:clapping:

God grant us holy Priests, all for the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary!:gopray2:
