Today I was received into the Catholic Church using the Reception of a Convert rite and the Supplying of Baptismal Ceremonies. It was quite beautiful and I thank God that I can finally say I am Catholic.

Tomorrow I receive first communion.

Thank you everyone for all your help. God truly used the caring people on this forum to guide me along the way and I know I will continue to learn from you and to pass on to others what I have learned.

Excuse the blurry pictures. I have to maintain some sort of anonymity. 😃

I’m so happy for you, TrueLight!

Now, the important question…was it in the EF or OF?

:D:D:D

God bless you and welcome home. I will pray for you tomorrow and that it will be a special day for you.

Peace and all well from Nothern-Europe, destination: Oslo-Norway.

Thank you guys. Glory to God.

I was brought into the Church by the FSSP priest who gave me instruction. He came down to the local parish. It was not during mass. It was just me, him and four of my friends I got to come down last-minute, as I only learned I would be received last Sunday.

It was the old rite said mostly in Latin (I had to say Latin responses too). 🙂

I will receive first communion at the FSSP parish, so of course it will be in the EF. 👍

Awesome! Congratulations! May you persevere in the faith that you have received with such joy! :extrahappy: :extrahappy: :extrahappy:

I got confirmed this last Easter; as soon as Fr. David put the oil on my forehead I immediately had this sort of heightened awareness of the saints, especially St. Thomas the apostle, praying for me. It was like he was whispering in my ear “I’ve been with you all along.” Who is your confirmation saint?

Yay!

Enjoy seeking and finding all the treasures in this “castle” called the Catholic Church. Of course, the best treasure of all is the Pearl of Great Price, Our Lord Jesus.

Thank you! Pray I maintain my enthusiasm.

So traditional parishes sort of do it differently. I was received into the church, but I will not be confirmed until around Easter. I know if you do RCIA, you get confirmed and receive holy communion all at once.

So the last part of the Reception of a Convert rite says:
"With authority given to me by the Apostalic See, I admit you ot the fellowship and unity of all the faithful in the Catholic church and I remove any bar, which exists to the reception of the Sacraments. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
I was baptized as a baby and as an adult. There is some question as to if as a baby, I was baptized as a Catholic or another denomination, so I had to be “received” into the church. If I was certainly baptized Catholic, after receiving instruction, I would have just done my first confession, then receive Holy Communion.

My patron Saint is St Michael the Archangel.

Yay!

Yes indeed! I can’t wait for tomorrow, although I probably won’t get any sleep tonight.

Congratulations! Welcome home to the Catholic Church which is of course the Church that Jesus founded and the only true Church! 👍:extrahappy:

That’s awesome 🙂 I just started RCIA, and can’t wait till Easter!!!

I praise God for your faith and pray that the Holy Spirit will constantly strengthen you in it. Please remember your fellow Catholics in your prayers.

Have you received first Holy Communion yet? If so, its time for you to change your “Religion:” section of your profile.
