Loving God,
You sent your Son Jesus into this world to be an example to us all.
From a young age He followed Your will.
He preached, healed and led people to You.
He suffered, He died and He rose.
We pray for the youth and young adults of this country.
Give them knowledge, courage and a willing heart to be the disciples of today.
To learn God’s will, to share God’s message and to be God’s people.
To know, to love and to serve with youthful zeal.
Bless them with happiness, friendship, love, laughter, peace, hope, faith, achievement and direction.
May we all be one.
Amen.

Lord Jesus, You asked your apostles to let the little children come to You and You laid Your hands on them and blessed them. We ask You now to take all children into Your care and to grant them Your grace and blessings.

Time and circumstances have contributed to forming the children of today’s world, and some of that formation has not been good. People, too, have influenced the children and we ask now that only the good influences may prevail.

Help us to help all children. Help us to find the proper things to do to change their lives for the better. Help us to be trustworthy friends and good examples for the children, so they may grow in wisdom and grace.

Grant that those people and events that have led them away from a good Christian life may no longer have any influence. Let all children, especially our own children and those who have touched our lives come to You. Amen

blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,

A Prayer of Petition to St. Nicholas

Glorious Nicholas, my own protector!
from that bright throne where thou dost enjoy the vision of thy God,
in pity turn thine eyes upon me;
ask for me from God those graces and helps most seasonable in my present necessities,
whether spiritual or temporal,
and especially the grace of praying and interceding for all children
so that they may stay pure, faith filled and full of charity for God and neighbor.

Forget not, glorious and holy bishop,
our Sovereign Pontiff, the holy Church, and this pious city.
Bring back to the right way of salvation those who live steeped in sin,
or buried in the darkness of ignorance, error, and heresy.
Comfort the sorrowing, provide for the needy,
strengthen the weak-hearted, defend the oppressed,
help the sick;
let all know the effects of thy powerful patronage
with Him Who is the supreme giver of all good. Amen.
