Dear Betsy
For those who trust in God,
in the pain of sorrow there is consolation,
in the face of despair there is hope,
in the midst of death there is life.
As you mourn the death of your child,
place yourselves in the hands of God and ask strength,
for healing, and for love.
For Those Who Grieve
Gracious God, please comfort the sorrowful. When a loved one dies, it changes our lives so quickly. Help those who are living in grief to know your loving embrace. Teach them that the dear ones they miss are truly living in the joy and peace of your heavenly kingdom. And as the pain eases and the healing begins, give them the strength to reach out to help those who follow them. We ask this in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Lord, whose ways are beyond understanding,
listen to the prayers of your faithful people:
that those weighed down by grief
at the loss of this [little] child
may we find reassurance in your infinite goodness.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, we know that there is but one thing impossible to You: to be without pity for those who are in suffering or distress.
