And Dear Jesus please grant compassion and kindness to carers in residential homes as well as those caring for elderly, sick relatives at home. Our very old, frail, helpless fellow humans, especially those with dementia, need our prayers that their dignity and individual rights are always upheld; their choices considered; that they are treated at all times with gentleness and respect, as if each was Our Blessed Lord Himself.

If I recall correctly, this was one of Pope Francis’ prayer intentions for a month earlier in the year. It is very important to remember the elderly members of society and their need for respect and love in their last days on earth.
