Our house not selling for the last three years is completely frustrating and an overwhelming financial burden for us. We read that God will open doors that no man can close and close doors that no man can open, and we kind of feel that’s what God has done to us - closed this door (of selling our house) that no man can open. So I came here to ask you to pray for enlightenment for us, so that we can know why God has closed this door, and what His purpose is, but as I’m writing this I guess I’m thinking that we’re question God’s purpose. I know that’s not right for us to do, but we are at our wits end with this. My wife and I are both very depressed, and I know that that’s effecting our children, and we simply don’t know what to do anymore. We’re trying to enjoy what each day brings, but there’s this huge black cloud that’s been hovering over us for 3 years now and we’re beyond learning anything from this experience.

Please pray a prayer for us, pray for whatever you think will remove the black cloud over us, especially for my wife and children.

Thank you.

ChinaDad:

I’m praying for you and your family to see better God’s divine providence in this situation.

Prayerfully,

Renato

ChinaDad,

I do not think you should feel bad about desiring enlightenment in a situation like this. I will say this, I gave up a long time ago trying to understand why God does what he deos. Some of the time the best we can do is try to know what God wants us to do. I will pray that God gives you and your family this understanding.

ChinaDad, there have been many times in my life when I’ve questioned God’s will. Wondered if it WAS his will, or maybe I wasn’t trying my best. Now I just try very hard to trust in Him. To leave it in His hands. That’s hard…giving it to Him is easy. Not taking it back is what’s hard.

I will pray for you and your family that everything will work out for the best for all of you, and that you will all have peace very soon. :byzsoc:

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 89 (90)

Let the Lord’s glory shine upon us

Lord, you have been our refuge
from generation to generation.
Before the mountains were born,
before earth and heaven were conceived,
from all time to all time, you are God.

You turn men into dust,
you say to them “go back, children of men”.
A thousand years in your sight
are like yesterday, that has passed;
like a short watch in the night.

When you take them away, they will be nothing but a dream;
like the grass that sprouts in the morning:
in the morning it grows and flowers,
in the evening it withers and dries.

For we are made weak by your anger,
thrown into confusion by your wrath.
You have gazed upon our transgressions;
the light of your face illuminates our secrets.

All our days vanish in your anger,
we use up our years in a single breath.
Seventy years are what we have,
or eighty for the stronger ones;
and most of that is labour and sadness –
quickly they pass, and we are gone.
Who can comprehend the power of your wrath?
Who can behold the violence of your anger?
Teach us to reckon our days like this,
so that our hearts may be led at last to wisdom.

Turn to us, Lord, how long must we wait?
Let your servants call on you and be answered.
Fill us with your kindness in the morning,
and we shall rejoice and be glad all the days of our life.
Give us joy for as long as you afflicted us,
for all the years when we suffered.

Let your servants see your great works,
and let their children see your glory.
Let the glory of the Lord God be upon us:
make firm the work of your hands.
Make firm the work of your hands.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Praying for your intentions…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Father, we know that you allow things
to happen in our lives that are not meant
to be understood by us. We pray for your
will to be done in our lives.
This family is confused and now ask
for you to reveal to them what it is that
you would have them to do.
Guide them and lead them down the
path that you want them to follow.
Grant them peace and understanding.
We ask all of this in the name of Jesus.
AMEN

You poor souls! I do hope that things improve for you soon and that God will take your affairs carefully into His hands.

Our Father, in Jesus’ name please flood Your mercy on this long-suffering family. Bring them hope and success.
