Pray for Helga, who is suffering

My mother-in-law is currently being looked after in a dementia care facility. Recently she fell and broke her left arm. It has been more than 6 weeks and the bone has not healed. She repeatedly removes the cast and uses the arm and has fallen on it again since. She does not seem to remember that she has broken it either and tries to use it often. She is stressed as she does not seem to understand what is happening to and around her anymore and can also become violent with those trying to help her. She often tells people that nothing is wrong and they should leave her alone.

We have had new x-rays done and no healing has taken place - in fact the bone has shifted and the break is worse. She also has osteoporosis, which does not help and the doctors feel that surgery and anesthesia could be life threatening. We also don’t want her to lose her left hand (as she is left handed as well).

My wife is having to deal with the doctors and a group of uncaring nurses to add to the stress. Please pray for my mom-in- law that she would pull through and that the doctors would be able to treat the situation well, and also for my wife, who is trying to do everything that she can and is struggling against a broken and uncaring medical system, and a mother who does not understand what is happening to her and can sometimes get aggressive or even violent.

Jesus we trust in you.

the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Helga’s Wife). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Helga’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

I’m very sorry:(

Praying for Helga’s healing and happiness and that something will change to make her surrounded by caring nurses instead of uncaring ones.
I also pray for a change in broken and uncaring medical systems.

Is the problem memory or awareness?
Ie: Does Helga’s Dementia make her forget that she has had an injury or rather does it make her that she isn’t aware of it?

She seems to forget that she has an injury at all. Her short term memory seems to have left her. With time it seems that her memory seems to slip further back. She seems to forget her husband and more recent events and speaks about her life in the 40’s and 50’s as if it were yesterday.

Thank you for your prayers. They are much appreciated. We are exploring new facilities to find a place where she will get better medical care.
