Prayer for Those in Chronic Pain

Lord Jesus Christ,
You understand people’s fear and pain. I pray for Louis, who
is suffering chronic, intractable pain. Surround him with Your
tenderness; give strength to him and all others who are in pain.
Hold him in Your arms of love, and give hope and patience in this
difficult time. I ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for whom
nothing is impossible. Amen. ✝️

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Njlisa). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Njlisa’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

God of Compassion, You willingly took
On our human condition to experience
the same pain, suffering, and death
that we do.

Through Your Son’s resurrection, You
transformed suffering and death into
new life and glory; and invite us
to join our own pain and struggles
to those of Jesus.

Increase the faith and hope of all who
are suffering, especially Louis, who is
living with chronic illness and pain.
Strengthen and confirm in them
the promise of new life and glory.

We pray this through the intercession
of Our Lady of Lourdes and in the name
of Your Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit,
now and forever. Amen.
