Pray for me; I'm so alone

I’m so alone. My brother bullies me. Everyone ignores me at school; they all think I’m wierd. My family is distant. My brother is always treating me like I am annoying and uninteresting and say stupid things. The rest of my family doesn’t notice. My grades are bad this year, and I’m so worried about not getting into or affording college. I’m so worried my parents will be mad at me, or disappointed, or ashamed. I always have to act when I’m around other people, and I have to constantly worry about whether I’ve offended somebody. Most of the time I just can’t make myself do homework, and I’m not sure why.

Is there a guidance counselor you can discuss some of this with?

Wow! How are feeling really brings back memories of my youth and how hard it can be at times. I think we all have been through it. Our self image suffers and we buy into all kinds of baloney about what it takes to be accepted or normal (whatever that is). Sometimes we just get bogged down and lose the will to do anything. But the truth of the matter is that we are never really alone. Our Lord is always with us and He understands exactly how we are feeling. He lived a human life and was young once too. We also have a guardian angel who was appointed by God to protect us and accompany us everywhere, in good times and bad times. Because we can’t perceive God’s Spirit or our guardian angel with our human senses it is easy to forget that they are there. But they really are and they never leave us. We can talk to them and asked them to help even in the smallest things. In fact they are overjoyed when we do. You are so precious to them and can ask them anything. You can offer all these worries to our Lord and ask Him to take them from you and to guide you to the things that are really important. When I feel frustrated and unmotivated I tell the Lord that and ask him to heal that part of me so that I can get on with the things I have to do. I know that I am helpless to change myself, but I know He can change me if I ask and allow Him too. When I have trouble with relationships, I take that to Him as well and ask him to heal those relationships and to reveal to me anything I have done myself to hurt those relationships and ask for forgiveness. When I do I feel things start to change inside, attitudes and frustrations I have. God reveals to us our flaws and asks us to bring those things to Him for healing. He makes everything new, and we become new people when we allow him to really live inside of us.
