This may seem like silly and selfish prayer requests to some, but it is so important to me that I am physically ill about it right now.

I am on a journey to revert to Catholicism. As an adult I have only been to mass a handful of times and always with my late father. Tomorrow I will attend mass for the very first time by myself, without my dad. I have OCD and I’m very socially awkward. I know one couple that will be there, but I don’t know them well. To make things worse (for my anxiety anyhow), when I texted the lady this evening to remind her to meet me outside before mass, she replied that she had told the priest about me and he wanted to meet with me after mass.

Another prayer request related to the one above - In search of my baptismal record and not sure where to even begin to look for it (with both my parents deceased), I made contact with a half-brother that hasn’t spoken to me in 20 years. He “disowned” me because I chose to remain friends with his wife after their divorce. He replied immediately telling me when and where I was baptized. He then surprised me by sending a longer text and it looks like we are going to try to find our way back to being family. Please pray that we do find common ground to build a new relationship on. With my dad passing just last year it’s been very hard on me feeling like I have no biological family left in the world.

Thank you.

God bless you, what a beautiful post. I’ll be praying the Rosary in just a moment, and will keep your intentions in mind.

Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth to men of good will.

WE praise Thee, we bless Thee, we adore Thee, we glorify Thee, we give Thee thanks for Thy great glory, O Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty.

O Lord Jesus Christ, only begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, Thou who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; Thou who takest away the sins of the world, receive our prayer. Thou who sittest at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.

FOR Thou alone art the Holy One, Thou alone art the Lord, Thou alone art the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

***Hail Mary,

and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

I’m a newbie, so I don’t know all the forum rules yet. I’m hoping that it is okay to give you an update here.

I went to mass, it was wonderful, I am home. 🙂

We live for updates! Welcome home!

Thank you! 🙂

Jumping in with both feet - because this is something I have put off for far too long - tomorrow I register for RCIA classes.

I did that last year. I’m a cradle Clatholic, but I was wayward for a long time. I joined my wife in RCIA as she converted. Except for going to confession with a true deep contrition, it was one of the most rewarding experences I’ve had the pleasure to be part of. In fact, I’ll be there tomorrow for the opening of RCIA to help with the kitchen duties.

Good Luck! God Loves and Blesses You! 👍

For your father,

Almighty Eternal God, in Your fatherly goodness, be kind to the soul of Your servant. Cleanse him whom You have called from this world of all his faults, take him into the Realm of Light and Peace and into the Community of Your Saints, and give him his share of Eternal Delight in Your Kingdom. God, You Creator and Saviour of all the faithful, forgive all the sins of all Your servants’ souls. Let them receive forgiveness through our pious prayer, for which they have always been yearning. For this we pray through Jesus, Our Lord. Amen.

For you,

Father of mercies and God of all consolation, You pursue us with untiring love and dispel the shadow of death with the bright dawn of light.

Comfort Kdkkdt in this loss and sorrow. Be our refuge and our strength, O Lord, and lift us from the depths of grief into the peace and light of Your Presence.

Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, by dying has destroyed our death, and by rising, restored our life. Enable us therefore to press on toward him, so that, after our earthly course is run, He may reunite us with those we love, when every tear will be wiped away. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

For you to gain strength and confidence,

Give me confidence in the depths of danger.
Give me hope when I am surrounded by fear.
Still my worries, calm the anxieties pressing in on me from the world I live in.
Lord Jesus, give me Your peace.

Reassure me that You are with me when I seem alone.
Ease my doubting, as You did Thomas’s.
Lord Jesus, give me Your peace.

Guide my searching for peace,
so that I may not seek it where it is not to be found,
but I may seek it in You.
Lord Jesus, live in me and give me Your peace. Amen.
