Pray for me please

Hi everyone again. My family has not attended Mass since June, and since I can’t drive myself there (I don’t have my license yet), I haven’t gone either. My dad in particular has some nasty things to say about the Church but my mom knows how I feel. I just hate bringing it up because I know it’s going to end in a bitter argument. Any prayers and/or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
 
All I can say is keep praying. Try to remember a friend who goes to your church. Call and ask if you could ride with them. Call the church and see if they know someone near you that would pick you up. Pray for your dad, that his heart and views will change. Just try not to set him off. If you could get a Blessed Green Scapular in the house, that would help. Worked on my wife (who is now Catholic), on my sisters. But it made my mother in law worse! Sometimes people just fight what is right and just.

Would your father have a problem with your mother if your mother drove you to Mass? I know how difficult it can be to avert fights within the family. Prayers to the head of the Holy Family…

Would your parents allow you to ride to Mass with someone else?

Say a prayer and gently ask early in the week, if one of your parents can drive you to Mass either this Saturday or Sunday. If you have a family calendar, ask if you can write it on the calendar with the time if they approve of your request.

If an argument arises, have a plan to simply, say “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you.” and go about something else.

May God grant your father a healing for what upsets him. May God lead your parents to be able to accept giving you a ride to Mass this weekend and here after. Amen.

Unfortunately, yes. He doesn’t want to feel like he’s being kept out of anything.
