Prayed on your behalf…
**
Prayer of Thomas Merton**
My Lord God,
I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me
Nor do I really know myself,
And the fact that I think I am following your will
Does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you
Does in fact please you.
And I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this,
You will lead me by the right road
Though I may know nothing about it.
Therefore will I trust you always though,
I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. * I will not fear, for you are ever with me,
And you will never leave me to face my struggles alone.

Eternal God,
from my mother’s womb
you have known and loved me
more than I can ever know.
I ask for the courage to live a holy life,
that your hand guide my decisions
and that your mercy be extended
when I seek my own glory instead of yours.
I ask for the wisdom to know your will for me,
and like our Blessed Mother,
I ask for the strength to say yes.
May I find you in every person I meet, and may my life so shine forth
your goodness and love that each person may be led to you
through Jesus, your Son,
who is Lord, forever and ever.
Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary,
that never was it known,
that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
though burdened by my sins,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you I come, before you I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in your mercy,
hear and answer me.
Amen.
I will pray both Thereses for you, the Little Flower and Blessed Mother Teresa who named herself after the Little Flower.
If you feel called to the missionary life, then do you participate in a little mission right now? As Mother Teresa said, many talk about the poor, few talk to the poor. In the rough & tumble of life, we see fact from fiction. God’s good grace be with you. Remember Jesus plows the field before He plants a seed. He cultivates the desire, then sows His will in you.
discerningnun, have you contacted any orders? or do you have a specific order in mind and in heart? have you discussed this with your (a) parish Priest?
I don’t know if this might help or not but while I was first discerning Religious life I went to weekend retreats with the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary and I was happy to receive this information (it’s on an older thread I started that I wanted to share with everyone)
Signs of Being called to Overseas Mission
(Scarboro Missions—Jan.-Feb.2002)
An uneasiness with the way things are in our world.
A desire to make a difference, to bring about justice and the Reign of God.
A commitment to Christ as the foundation for all we do.
A readiness to let go of the familiar in order to serve God as freely and faithfully wherever this may lead.
A joyful spirit which embraces the people among whom we serve.
Humility to acknowledge our limitations and our need for forgiveness, and to let go of failures.
A sense of humor which rejoices in life, carries us through hard times, and helps us laugh at our mistakes.
I’m in contact with 3 orders right now Maryknoll, missionary sisters of the Holy Rosary and Holy Spirit Missionary sistes. I will keep you in my prayers
