May God grant peace to your daughter and you. May the young man reach for the grace that only God can give and may all be well again. I pray that God gives all the answers. God’s love to you.
Lord please hear our prayers for Irishmom’s daughter and for the young man. Please Lord may he open his heart and mind to Your will for him and the daughter also. Please help them both through this truly difficult emotional time.AmenI drove out to see my daughter yesterday. We spent 7 hours together walking in the city, shopping a bit, getting a bite to eat…
Pretty much the whole time, we talked about her friend. As she talked more, I was struck by how truly intelligent, intuitive and faith filled my beautiful daughter is. After hearing what she was saying, I have to say that I came away agreeing with her.
For two years, these two had a most incredible relationship. They have been there for each other through health issues, the sudden loss of a college friend, family issues on both sides, school decisions and commitments and a most spectacular semester abroad together. She is correct to know that they were good together. They communicate better and talk over any arguments better than most married couples I know, myself included. They shared interests, intelligence and were SO devoted to each other–not a one way street, I saw it from him as well. My family loved him like a member of our family and his family welcomed my daughter in as well. We all knew where this was headed one day.
My daughter made an appointment to talk to a counselor for Friday. She is desperately hoping her boyfriend will continue to go to his own appointment, as he had one last week. She is in so much pain, and does not know how to cope with the loss and more importantly, the unanswered questions. She feels she cannot move forward without answers.
She truly believes (and I have to admit, I do too) that this is not over yet. But he has to get help understanding what happened. He just shut down and shut her and everyone that asks him about it out.
PLEASE pray for this young man especially, that God will guide him to peace and to be able to handle his stresses in a way that will allow him to live his life smoothly and that he can include my daughter in it as he once did.
Thanks to all of you for continued prayer support, it is comforting to feel that we are not alone praying. As I gave her a hug when I was leaving, she asked me to come here again and ask for your prayers. It broke my heart in a way.
AMENBe with my daughter Lord. Help her through each day as she struggles to understand the sudden void in her life, the unexplained departure of the one we truly believe she is meant to be with.
Please open this young man’s heart and his mind to see that the way he has chosen is in fact, not the way at all. Help him to see that cutting off the one support he counted on and pushing her out of his life will not take away the stress he is feeling because she is not the cause of his stress. Please allow something, or someone into his heart that will open his eyes to what he is throwing away by his impulsive and illogical action.
Wrap him in your love Lord. Let him feel your peace and guide him to do what it takes to resolve any issues that are causing him to have this knee jerk reaction to the pain he must be feeling.
I ask these things through the intercession of Your Most Holy Mother Mary.
I humbly plead for you to ask Your Father in Your name that my prayer be granted.

I thank you Lord for hearing these prayers. I thank you for the anonymous friend that wrote to this young man and told him how foolish and impulsive and painful his decision was on so many levels. I believe they were sent to open his eyes as I had hoped for… I thank you for placing another friend in his path that he then spoke to and who talked to my daughter and gave her the first hope she has had in weeks.I plead with you for some break in her nothingness. It is exhausting her and myself as well.
