Do you have a Spiritual Director? If you do, whether or not here was a disagreement between your Therapist and your Spiritual Director would be a good sign that you need to switch therapists. I think this would help your discernment process.
I really believe that one shouldn’t switch therapists on a whim, and that one should try to “grow where one is planted”. Some of the few exceptions are where of where your therapist challenges your Catholic faith or advises you to act in a manner contrary to the Catholic Faith and the Teachings of the Catholic Church.
That’s why I think you want a Spiritual Director.

Praying for you. For myself, I found the Catholic charities therapist very enlightening. I pray that you will be led to the right person to help you with any difficulties you are experiencing. May God give you peace and keep you free from anxiety…
