Ted, thank you for your advice & words. And to ALL also. I’m nervous & yet excited to speak with Father Porter from our church. I wish my wife would join me. I actually left her a memo in her car this morning & invited her, but I doubt it. It doesn’t hurt to try. Things are bad for her at work right now. She is not wanting to go to work & stated she hated her job. She told me she was written up at work, but we didn’t discuss on why. I do know she was upset & layed in bed all of yesterday when she got home from work. I had to kick in to mommy/daddy mode again.
I woke up this morning on the couch & missed my bed & wife so much that I nearly went upstairs & layed next to her. It’s hard waking up nowadays…
Please pray for us my dear friends.

Husband
I’m praying for all of you. Cyper hugs from here.:gopray2:

I’m praying for you, brother, and for your wife and children as well.

Good morning friends. I prayed for everyone on this site that is in need of prayer.
My experience with Father Porter was awesome. What a marvelous man. He had so much patience with me. He listened so carefully & had great words. Yes words of Christ, they sounded so beautiful. All I know is that I wanted to stay there forever at that time, I felt peaceful. He gave me hope & told me NOT to give up, that God doesn’t want that for us. He said Christ has not turned His back on us. He loves us unconditionally.
I will try & do whatever humanly possible, but overall I will put it in God’s hands. I realize I cannot control or change her mind & only that Christ Himself will work with her. I will keep praying & praying & praying & I ask to all my friends here to keep praying for us also.
I see a little hope in her as she said she is willing to go in & speak with Father Porter. She said no promises though, but a step is a step in the right direction…
I have more to tell, but I have to go into a meeting shortly. Pray my friends & I will do the same. God Bless to all.

Keeping all of you close in prayer!🙂

I will pray,
Lord, inspire those men and women
who bear the titles “Husband” and “Wife”.
Help them to look to You
to themselves
to one another
to rediscover the fullness and mystery
they once felt in their union.
Let them be honest enough to ask:
"Where have we been together
and where are we going?
Let them be brave enough to question:
“How have we failed?”
Let each be foolhardy enough to say:
“For me, we come first”.
Help them, together
to reexamine their commitment
in the light of Your love,
willingly, openly, compassionately.

One Hail Mary…

Hail, O Virgin of Guadalupe. We place under your powerful patronage the purity and integrity of the Holy Faith in Mexico and in all the American Continent, for we are certain that while you are recognized as Queen and Mother, America and Mexico and our Matrimony will be saved…

Amen

I will pray for God’s Will to be done in your life. I batted my head against a brick wall many times not knowing what to pray for, or praying for something that seemed to never happen the way I wanted it to happen. Then I learned to pray for His Will. After all, He is our loving Father, and therefore, His Will can only be the best for us in the long run.

And I pray for His peace to surround you during this very stressful time in your life. Let His love fill your heart to over-flowing. :byzsoc:

Hello again to all. My wife met with Father Porter this afternoon & by the tone of her voice I felt really uneasy. She didn’t really want to talk about it & stated she was unsure if she would go back. This is not the outcome I wanted. I feared that this would happen. I feel so “lost” right now. I was hoping to hear her say something like you know husband I think we are heading in the right direction. I must pray for her & us like no other. I know my children are hurting inside. I want this nightmare to go away!
Lost for words & thoughts…numb.

I’m sorry to hear this. The only thing I can tell you now is to just keep showing her you love her, even if you get the cold shoulder back. It’s gonna hurt a lot, I know, but just don’t give up. Also, keep close to Our Lord in prayer and in the sacraments. When going through something like this, it’s easy to say/do/think really mean and hurtful things. I think that the best way to combat this is by keeping close to Jesus through all of this. Also, as I said in an earlier post, rally your troops to help you get through all of this- friends, family, etc.

Good morning all,
Things are really bad at home…I’m almost out of air…

Husband

I was thinking today how things might be going for you, and prayed.

Jesus please help my brother-in-You through this nightmare that is marriage breakdown. Hold his hand and walk with him through it, please Jesus. Please comfort and shield the children.

I know we have inviolate free will, but if it is possible, touch his wife’s heart.

Prayers for you and for your family and for all of those who are goiing through this kind of nightmare. Please don’t lose hope, pray in all things. Praying God’s will be done.:signofcross:

My dear wife has said to me that she has never loved me, never. That I never completed her. I’ve given her EVERYTHING imaginable. I’m not talking about money either, but everything else. My heart, soul, body, mind, patience, understanding & anything & everything that falls under love…
I’ve put my needs aside to try & fullfill hers…
I’m torn & hurt so incredible much that I have zero words to describe how it feels…

Husband

The most painful sort of betrayal, as a person deserves to be genuinely loved by their spouse. May God help you to deal with this.
Lord, when we give way to the other too much, we can sometimes help to spoil them and confirm them in their self-centredness. Jesus, help us to be true to ourselves, to love others as ourselves, as You command us. Help this brother’s wife to maturity in her relationships, so that she doesn’t expect others to ‘fulfil’ her, that is her task. Teach her to respect and love the other in mutual give and take, not just to accept what she can comfortably receive.

Can someone interpret this:
I will stay in this marriage for the kids. I will not be your wife nor will I love you…
What should I do. I told her I didn’t want to continue under those circumstances…

My heart aches for you. I have been through a bitter divorce after a marriage of 23 years and then he just “did not want me anymore”…Bitter things were said…the sad part is that words are said and they can’t be "un"said. I don’t know what to tell you…there are no right words from me…only believe that God will get you through this. Turn it over to God and as a very dear friend here on the forum told me under another situation…Give it to God and don’t take it back…it is hard to do but just continue to be kind, loving and help your children by letting them know how much they are loved…If she hits the tennis ball at you…let it drop…don’t hit it back to her…By dropping it…it is in God’s hands.
I wish I could be more helpful but you are kept in my prayers.

Husband,

If she will stay in the marriage for the children, then at least that gives you something to work with. It will be hard for her to maintain her stance towards you if she is still living with you and being a mother to your children. When she is more open, perhaps she will come to recognize the true sacramental, vocational meaning of marriage, and thereby be motivated find a way to be at peace.

I pray that eventually you will be able to work it out with her.

God Bless,
Ted

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those that trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen

Lord, inspire those men and women who bear the titles “Husband” and “Wife” especially for Husband and his wife.
Help them to look to You to themselves, to one another
to rediscover the fullness and mystery they once felt in their union.
Let them be honest enough to ask:
Where have we been together and where are we going?
Let them be brave enough to question:
How have we failed?
Let each be foolhardly enough to say:
For me, we come first.
Help them together to reexamine their commitment
in the light of Your love willingly, openly and compassionately.
Help them, together to believe how fragile, yet powerful
how weak, yet how strong
how impossible, yet attainable their love can be.
Give husband and his wife the courage to be for each other person rather than a title.
Amen.

Husband, I’m so sorry to hear what you have been through but what I can say it that please don’t give up your hope. God listens to you, He listens your cry, He listens anything in your heart that you want to say. May the Holy Spirit gives you strength to go on.
God bless
