pray for my job

Please pray for me. I just received a very damning message from a regional officer that leads me to believe that this will be the last year our hospital will accept exemptions for the flu vaccination. For the past 3 or 4 years, I have filed my exemption. As a consequence, I have had to forfeit my annual raise, wear a mask to work and take a written warning on my permanent record.

I have very strong feelings about this that my DH does NOT share and my family’s livelihood depends on my income, so I can’t afford to be flippant about this. I feel very isolated on this subject, I cannot talk to DH about my fears, he gets very angry.

DH has every intention of eventually looking for a better-paying job, so please pray that he will be compelled to do so as soon as possible. Please pray that I may leave my job in (somewhat) good standing. It would be really great if they would regionalize my job and I could get a nice little severance package.

Jesus, I trust in you, help me trust you more!
 
Exactly what is the reason for you filing for an exemption here? :confused: Maybe a rethink would be a good thing here.

Praying for your intentions though I had no idea an employer could monetarily penalize you(forfeit your raise?) I would check your contract to make sure these practices are legal.You may want to have a good attorney look into this.

cj, thank you for your thoughts. I had contacted a vaccine attorney, but even at his discounted rate, I could not afford it. And, since DH is not on board, he would not agree to spend the money for that. It is my understanding that it is illegal for an employer to penalize employees (even as far as the mask policy), but, without an attorney, I am unable to defend myself.

I am praying that DH will just independently seek out or receive an offer for a better-paying job and this issue can silently go by the wayside.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood.
