Please pray for my parents - they’re downstairs fighting right now. They have been married over 30 years but since my dad retired, there’s been a lot more tension. My dad seems to say the wrong things in a joking matter and it hurts my mom. I know that isn’t everything that’s going on but suffice to say, I’m fearing that one is going to leave and possibly divorce. I’ve asked if they would go to counseling but my mom says they’ve been to enough but they havn’t for a number of years- not since my dad retired. Please pray for them - I just want them to be happy - they worked so hard all their lives to get here - and now- I don’t know.
God Bless

p.s. I was also going to ask for prayers for my marriage as well.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen.

“Prayer for the Family”**

Lord God, from You every family in heaven and on earth takes its’ name.
Father, you are love and life. Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, born of a
woman, and through the Holy Spirit, fountain of divine charity, grant that
every family on earth may become for each successive generation a true
shrine of life and love.
Grant that Your grace may guide the thoughts and actions of husbands and
wives for the good of their families and of all the families in the world.
Grant that the young may find in the family solid support for their human
dignity and for their growth in truth and love.
Grant that love, strengthened by the sacrament of marriage, may prove
mightier than all the weaknesses and trials through which our families
somtimes pass.
Through the intersession of the holy family of Nazareth, grant that the church
may fruitfully carry out her worldwide mission in and through the family.
Through Christ our Lord, Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life for ever
and ever. Amen.*

Lord, please send peace to ryecroft’s parents lives. Help them to meet with their Pastor or with a marriage counselor so they can grow as a couple and be happy again. Bless this couple and help them love each other more. Bless ryecroft and her husband, too, Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR OUR FAMILY # 3
Heavenly Father,
you have given us the model of life
in the Holy Family of Nazareth.
Help us, O Loving Father,
to make our family another Nazareth
where love, peace and joy reign.
May it be deeply contemplative,
intensely eucharistic,
revived with joy.

Help us to stay together in joy
and sorrow in family prayer.
Teach us to see Jesus in the members of our families,
especially in their distressing disguise.
May the eucharistic heart of Jesus
make our hearts humble like his
and help us to carry out our family duties
in a holy way.
May we love one another
as God loves each one of us,
more and more each day,
and forgive each other’s faults
as you forgive our sins.
Help us, O Loving Father,
to take whatever you give
and give whatever you take with a big smile.

Immaculate Heart of Mary,
cause of our joy, pray for us.

St. Joseph, pray for us.

Holy Guardian Angels,
be always with us,
guide and protect us.

Amen.

Thank you so much - I have also been lighting candles, going to extra masses and doing this 9 day (can also be done in 9 hours) prayer to the Infant of Prague. I understand that sometimes - probably often, the answer God gives us is not the same as what we exactly want but I am praying to be able to accept whatever happens. I think may parents deserve to be happy after working so hard for so many years. I know that praying doesn’t change God, it changes me, but I know that He also said to pray with expectaton (as if you knew you were to receive what you asked for) I know that’s paraphrasing - if you know what the exact quote is, please let me know. I’ve thought about putting up a thread about this, but I’m not sure if I would get anything but criticism about how each were acting - I put a post up acting for help about one thing and the majority of what I got back were criticisms of other things that lead up to my asking for the help.
God Bless and THANK you SO Very, Very much for the Prayers- He says that where 2 or more are gathered, there He is - knowing this and knowing that He is there when I pray alone helps me to understand (to some extent) that He always hears me - and hopefully He is always listening.
God Bless

Hello ryecroft,( Annie ),
Yes, where two or more are gathered in His name, He is there with us.
And God IS always listening. I believe the verse you are refering to is: Matt. 21: 22 -
“And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will recieve”.
( New American Bible )

Will continue tio pray for you and your parents. Gods Grace and peace to you and your familiy.

Thank you agan for all of your prayers. There is actually a little peace - but I’m supposed to go home to my husband tomorrow or the next day at the latest - and I am a little afraid of leaving but I know I must put my trust in God that he will show them how to be loving on their own. I don’t want to neglect my marriage to help with another, even though my husband says it’s o.k. Every time I go to Church, I light some candles nad pray to the Holy Family and St Anthony and St. Jude.
God Bless

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

It can be difficult for both partner for a period after retirement.

I ask You, loving God, to help this couple through the challenges of being together full-time. Please help Rye’s Dad to cope with the loss of structure in his life; and to be understanding of his wife’s needs and feelings, and her sense of being restricted, as the constant presence of a retired spouse can occasionally give the sense of being trapped and a little paralysed at the loss of the freedom of personal time.

Please help Rye’s mother to be more open to her husband’s frustrations and to be sympathetic to his needs and feelings, and not to crush his good spirits by rejecting and taking offence at his humour. Please help her to recognize when he is being whimsical and humorous, and to be open to enjoying it. Help her to be sympathetic to the fact that her husband has lost his daily function and structure, and his loss is the worse if home is uncomfortable.

Loving God, help this couple to find and allow time for hobbies and interests, and to allow some space for each other, in addition to improving the quality of their interactions and time together.

Please give Rye the peace and security, and the witness, of parent who are growing in relationship and kindly communication.

Thank You, loving God

Lord God,
Please bless these parents. Please keep them together, so that their family will stay together. I ask this through the intercession of St. Anne and St. Joachim Mother and Father of the Blessed Mother.

Amen!

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
