Pray for my son Anthony!

Please pray for my 21 year old son, Anthony. He has battled drug and alcohol abuse since he was 14. Last fall, he went on an ACTS retreat and was awakened, but fell back into his old lifestyle. He did receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in January. Over Palm Sunday weekend, he had a drug induced psychotic break and I had to have the police remove him to a psychiatric hospital. He agreed to rehab, but left after 3 days, very paranoid. He was taken to another psychiatric hospital for 8 days, then released. I convinced him to go to another rehab and he stayed 3 weeks before having another psychotic break. He was taken to a third hospital and is now back at the rehab.

PLEASE, pray that he has no more breaks and that he works with fervor the therapy and counseling to get him sober and healthy!

God of life, You made Anthony in Your perfect image,
to live in Your love and to give You glory, honor and
praise. Open his heart to Your healing power.
Come, Lord Jesus, calm his soul just as you whispered
“Peace” to the stormy sea. St. Jude, most holy Apostle,
we reach out to you. We beg you to intercede for Anthony
that her may find strength to overcome his illness. Bless
all those who struggle with addiction. Touch them, heal
them, and reassure them of the Father’s constant love.
Remain at his side, St. Jude, to chase away all evil
temptations, fears, and doubts. May the quiet assurance
of your loving presence illuminate the darkness in his
heart and bring lasting peace. Through Christ Our Lord, amen.

I’m praying for him. May the Lord save him from those habits and may He grant him a full recovery.
 
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, please help Anthony to overcome his addiction and be free. Please help him to diligently work at his therapy and become restored to full physical and mental health quickly. Please also give peace to his mother during this time.

St. Jude and St. Maximilian Kolbe, I humbly ask your intercession in this matter. Thank you. Amen.

My life circumstances have been such that I have spent a great deal of time around people who suffer from addiction. I pray not only for your intentions for Anthony, but for those who have endured the chaos and the heartache they have experienced.
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Anthony). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Anthony’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (Anthony!), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.
