Brothers and sister in Christ,

I write this with a broken heart over what is being done to Christians in Iraq, specially in Mosul (Nineveh).

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) offered at the beginning of July three options to our Christian brothers and sisters, Become Muslims, Pay heavy tax or die by the sword. And they chose to flee instead. On their way out of the city ISIS, took everything they owned, even wedding rings and any form of identification. Left with nothing but the clothes on their bodies and their strong faith in our Lord Jesus they kept moving on foot away from the evil that has possessed the city. “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.” Matthew (19:29)

I won’t ask anything more than what Jesus would ask. Pray for them. Spread the word about the evil things being done to them. For people here knows nothing about this. Share the news with your church, congregation and community. We all know from experience how powerful prayer is. But how can people pray if they do not know the TRUTH? Lord Jesus said “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew (25:40)

It is your responsibility and mine to let the world know about the sufferings of our brothers and sisters. The brothers and sisters of our Lord Jesus! After all we all want one thing…Peace.

In Christ,
Sarah S.

These are pictures of almost 1600 old churches being burned to the ground.

You can do more by sharing this. Forward it to everyone you know. Let your priests and church members know. People needs to stand up and do something. If Christianity dies in that part of the world, they part where it started, then soon it will everywhere else. We cant stand with our heads buried in the sand anymore! We must speak up.

Here is a FB with pictures of the refugees. Our Catholic family is being torn apart by the evil one!

Prayer for Peace in the Middle East

God of mercy and compassion
of grace and reconciliation,
pour your power upon all your children in the Middle East:
Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Druze,
Palestinians, Israelis, Lebanese, Iraqis, and Kurds.
Let hatred be turned to love, fear to trust, despair to hope,
oppression to freedom, occupation to liberation,
that violent encounters may be replaced by loving embraces,
and peace and justice could be experienced by all. Amen.

Peace and all Good!

Thanks for sharing. I’m certainly keeping them in my prayers! I’ll sign the petition as well

I signed the petition and posted the petition to my FaceBook. They are in my prayers and this was mentioned in intentions at Mass in our parish.

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Prayer for Assistance from the Blessed Mother

May persecuted Christians be protected, we beseech Thee, O Lord, by the worshipful intercession of Thy glorious Mother, the ever-Virgin Mary; that all who have been enriched by her perpetual blessings, may be delivered from all dangers, and through her loving kindness made to be one heart and mind: who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.

:signofcross:

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

†

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

†

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

How wonderful! Thank you and God bless.

The Church is not a building. We are the Church and as the end of days is coming we will become less but wont seize to exist! But that does not mean we stand by and watch Christians become less in the world. Why do you think we are working so hard for the new evangelization? Part of that protecting what we already have. And what do we have in Mosul? There has been no Mass said in the city for the past month, breaking a 1600 year old tradition!!! And now ISIS are moving to the nearby villages which are filled with almost 90% of Christians, most of them are Catholics. Some are lucky to escape, the rest are facing kidnapping, death, rape, heavy tax and many other atrocities being done to them.

God Bless.

Thank you all for your support and prayers. We stopped the black mass few months ago with our prayers, we can stop what’s happening now, cuz if God is with us, who can be against us?

God bless you all.

Please be aware, the site to which you have posted a link to here and on other threads is not faithful to the Magesterium of the Church.

Sometimes when you start searching the web for something specific, you fall onto a nice-looking website with vintage Catholic images and it seems like it’s a good site, until you dig a little deeper and then discover they aren’t faithful to the Church. Things like that happen to many people. It happened to me when I found one that is similar. It had lovely prayers and images on the front page, along with beautiful chanted Gregorian hymns. Then it started in with disparaging remarks and opinions about recent Popes, the Mass in Ordinary Form, etc. The scary thing is what is posted on sites like that can cause people to start to question their Faith and the Magisterium. That is not good! I use this site to help determine the faithfulness of Catholic sites and it’s been most useful.

I did not suggest we should not help them. I was simply saying no matter how persecuted the Church will be we will survive.

God Bless
