My husband and I have been trying to conceive for almost two years. It is so difficult that every month we face disappointment. Every week at church, I pray that God, Jesus, and Mary will hear my prayers and bless me with children. Even though it has not yet happened, I know that I must keep faith that it will happen in His time. The problem is, how on earth do others keep faith alive month after month? It always happens the same, I get all excited, start misinterpreting cues in my body, and boom… my period. This month, I will find out whether or not I am pregnant next Wednesday. Please keep me in your prayers. I want to bring children into this world more than anything.

Which kind of NFP are you using? From the other thread I think you said you do… I only ask this because if you are using CrMs then you can find out if there are any health issues preventing you from getting pregnant. STM can also help if you look at the temp patterns and the CM patterns. I actually found out, thanks to STM I had endometriosis.

Have you told your OB you have had trouble getting pregnant? There might be something preventing you from getting pregnant and might not know it.

I have been pregnant twice in 9 months and have lost them both :crying: but before that, I prayed and prayed to get pregnant. But you know what? I found that even if you pray for it, God might not want you to have a child right now. Look at me… 😦

Anywho, how do I do it month after month? I don’t know, I just look the other way and ignore it and keep on going. Except for when I miscarried my 2 babies… that was really hard and trying after the first loss was exhausting misinterpreting all the symptoms… then I found out about the endometriosis and had surgery to remove it, and got pregnant again, only to miscarry again…

It’s mentally and emotionally and of course physically exhausting. I guess the mere thought of having a baby is what kept me going. Now I can’t, 2 losses is too much and don’t want another loss…

Just leave it in God’s hands and do seek advice from an OB. I just found out I might have this condition that makes me miscarry, so, it’s all about God and the dr’s now.

Oh my goodness. I cannot imagine what you have been through. I will keep you in my prayers. It’s so upsetting to think that miscarriage is even a possibility, although I now well that it is. We spend all this time praying for pregnancy when that is just the beginning. There is so much that comes after that.

I did go to see my OB about a year ago and had the full work up. It is basically unexplained anovulation. There is nothing wrong, but I rarely ovulate, even when the NFP signs show that I have (The doctor knows that I did not because it has been confirmed by progesterone test). This is even with CM and temp. My body is just not cooperating. So, there is not medical reason why I should not be getting pregnant. Everything with my husband got checked out as well, and there isn’t a problem there. I am sure that God has a plan. It’s just so difficult that everyone around me seems to be getting pregnant without trying. You know, the “Oh my goodness, I didn’t realize that I missed my last two periods…” I want to scream when I hear things like that. I am sure it is much worse for you.

I pray that you can find some peace and that God brings children into your life. Thank you for sharing. I don’t feel so alone.

Have you tried learning Creighton? They are more proactive at this than the STM people. If you aren’t ovulating, they run tests and give you treatment right away. Has your dr suggested anything like clomid to help you ovulate? If you rarely ovulate, it might be something with your hormones… but I rather not go deep into this or we can get banned, suspended or the thread can get closed if we give medical advice.

You should join us in the Pregnant of not thread. There are many of us there trying to get pregnant, some of us have health issues, some don’t.

I will join that thread, thanks. As for the treatment from the dr., I have tried it all. Still nothing. My body is fighting it every step of the way.

Thanks so much.

My husband & I share the same yearning for children as you do. We too have been trying to concive for 3 years. We were finally successful…however we lost our precious baby girl July 9, 2009. I was going into my 5th month of pregnancy. She is now our little angel in heaven. I have not given up hope that God will bless us with a child. Keep your eyes on Him and He will give you the desires of your heart. I pray for women like us every day. Keep praying for that child to raise for all of His glory.

Lots of love and luck to you and your husband.

I can totally understand what you’re going through. It took us a little over 15 years to get pregnant! It was until I acted like I’ve already received it that we finally got pregnant. Keep on praying!!

Lori-

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I cannot imagine what you are going through. I will be praying for you and you husband. I made my original post over a year ago. God heard my prayers and answered them. I currently have a 4 month old son. When I read my journals from our long road of infertility, I cannot believe how lost I felt. I felt so abandoned, but it is clear now, that God was with me all along. I pray that He answers you quickly. The prayer of Jabez always made me feel better . I still say it every day. If you ever want to talk, feel free to email me. novak414 at gmail.

All my love and prayers,
Katie
