Heavenly Father, we offer these prayers to the needs of all CAF members and their loved ones. We offer them for those who are ill or dying, people in ICU and for the souls of unborn children, and for those who perpetuate the culture of death in all its forms, including abortion and euthanasia.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Dear God, please have mercy on the souls, minds and bodies of those who are ill, depressed, or suffering debilitating diseases. Please ensure accessible means to alleviate their condition and to provide quality of life. Help them to find creative ways of dealing with loss of ability, mobility and employment. Where their minds are deteriorating, please give them peace, courage and gentleness. Help their partners, families and companions to kindly nurture and encourage them.

Heal shock of sudden death of loved ones. Ease the dread, stress and suffering of patients and families facing gloomy prognoses and coping with protracted painful illness. Help the sick and their families to endure the process of deterioration and dying. Grant wisdom, love and forgiveness to the sick and dying. Receive the souls of our dead, let us comfort each other, and finally unite us in heaven. July 2006
