The point is not critize those who are lonely but to have compassion and offer support becuase that is how our lord would want us to behave. We need to imitate him and not judge or try to figure out because we do not know all answers ONLY GOD knows all the answers. As catholics we need to strive to be more compassionate and less critical of others. I do not why some people have a lot of family aorund and others don’t.so, let’s be a little more kind and considerate. this forum is to pray for people not to critize them,
You are most correct,

:gopray2:Prayer may be the only hope for some, with no hope at all to change a circumstance in their lives. While others being on bended knees may be shown the way out of their circumstances or dilemma.

One thing for sure if mankind were to all pray together towards the love of one another. The world would be a better place even with out Gods intervention.

It is a wonderful idea to pray for those who are lonely, especially this time of year. It is also important to pray for others who have no one else to pray for them. And these days, that includes a lot of people!

I will keep all those who are lonely and/or having a hard time during the holiday season in my prayers.

Sincerely,

Prayer for C and J who are often lonely.

Prayer for myself to be more compassionate towards those who are lonely. For me not to be selfish and give of myself to the lonely.

Dear Jesus,
You felt the loneliness when you were in this world. Please touch the hearts of those who feel lonely this Christmas season and every day. Bless them with comfort, faith and trust that You will see them through their loneliness. Remind them that you also suffered loneliness throughout your lifetime on earth. Bless the lonely and send others to befriend them and comfort them. This I ask in Your Most Precious Name. Amen.

Please pray for the sick and for those that are about to die.

Letter from my daughters sister-in-law Julie.

Julie’s own update:

Hi and a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Just a quick note with some changes in my condition.
Over the past 2 to 3 weeks I have developed difficulty swallowing thin liquids. I can do this safely by tucking my chin as I swallow. I can still eat solid foods fine. I also have a very soft voice, presently like laryngitis. I cough more, especially with talking. So, talking on the phone is harder. My family doesn’t leave me at home alone anymore. Mom is hear almost all the time and my friend, Amy has taken time off from work full time to help. Sharon, my sister-in-law visits frequently to help and allow Mom and Amy a little time to run errands and get out of the house for a little while. Pray for Mom; her left hip has been causing her a lot of pain the past two weeks.
I am still blessed with minimal to no pain. My legs are tired when I try to walk. Stairs are especially a challenge. I have gotten out of the house a couple of times this week with a little help. I hope to be able to celebrate our family Christmastime together on New Year’s Eve late afternoon at Jim and Sharon’s house, Lord willing.
Thank you for your continued prayers!!!

Love to you all,
Julie

These intentions will be in my prayers.

*Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

Dear 031064,

Thank you for remembering the lonely ones. I’m a very lonely person too. I’ll pray for the other lonely ones.

I can’t finish the message without saying I trust in God’s infinite mercy. I know much of my loneliness has been caused by my past sinfulness and my stupidity and weakness in dealing with my problems. I know that God’s mercy is greater than all my sins and all my failings combined.

God bless!🙂 🙂

Loneliness and relationship
Jesus, Scripture tells us, “It is not good that man should be alone.” [Genesis 2:8] Yet loneliness affects many people even in company because they feel unable to trust in their value to others. They often feel rejected and unloved, and have little self-esteem.

Humans hope for companionship that is reciprocal and happy, with love that affirms our individuality and value. We seek in others the gift of ourselves forgiven and accepted in all our faults. We also secretly desire others’ recognition of our hidden beauty. We cannot receive such a gift unless we can also give to others the gift of themselves accepted by love that is aware, not blind.

Express Your love in our relationships as we seek to live in gospel community, not as isolated individuals. For only where individuals and communities are willing to love and to minister to others, do we find in each other the nourishing power of Christ’s presence.

Therefore, let the lonely and hurt understand their need to welcome others in charity in however small or great means open to them, rather than to remain trapped in isolation or self-pity. However if they remain isolated, we offer You their pain, united with the atoning loneliness of Your own earthly exile in reparation for all sins against compassion, against friendship, justice and unity.

Jesus let us gently bring Your love to the lonely, to all persons who hunger for love and companionship.

“God gives the lonely a permanent home.” [Psalm 68:6]
