Dear Friends: Please join me in prayers for Philip, a 7-year-old boy who died without warning recently.

Prayer for the Death of a Child

Deliver us from all evil, O God,
for we would not lose hope,
would not forget Your love.
Love this child forever
as we have loved him.
Guide our steps in the way of peace
'til with our eyes we behold You
and shall praise You with all the saints
forever and ever.

Eternal rest grant unto Philip, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon him.

And may the souls of all the faithful departed,

Prayer to the Blessed Mother in a Time of Bereavement

O sweet mother Mary, you knew the sadness
of mourning those your heart loved most:
Jesus, your Son, and Joseph, your devoted spouse.
Please pray for all affected in this time of loss.

God, my heavenly Father, I adore You, and I count myself as nothing before Your Divine Majesty. You alone are Being, Life, Truth, and Goodness. Helpless and unworthy as I am, I honor You, I praise You, I thank You, and I love You in union with Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Savior and our Brother, in the merciful kindness of His Heart and through His infinite merits.

I pray heavenly Father, have mercy on the soul of Philip and accept him into Your kingdom where he may praise You forever and ever.

Have mercy on Philip’s family and grant them the graces needed to accept Your Will.
