Praying for you to stop smoking, MainBrain.

Our Father, who is in heaven,
Your name be held holy,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses as
we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Saying this same prayer for you, me, and all others who want to quit smoking. Beautiful prayer, njlisa.
Thank God I quit smoking many years ago – back in the 1980s. But I have other bad habits that I’m working on. None of us is perfect. 🙂

• When I trust in You, Lord, I do not need to soothe myself with cigarettes. Through Your grace, I am no longer a slave to impulses and addiction.

• Lord, when grounded in prayer, I work calmly and confidently. Give me the grace to not let my self-confidence be bothered by small mistakes. In You I can overcome all obstacles with total confidence.

• Give me the grace, Lord, to respect my own body as a temple of the Holy Spirit and to present myself to others with respect and dignity.

• Give me the grace, Lord, to remain calm, relaxed, and composed in any situation.

• Lord, let Your calmness and patience reflect through me to shine upon others as compassion and sensitive understanding.

• You, Lord, give me an experience of peace and calm that cannot be threatened by anything outside myself. I thank you, Lord; I refuse to be jealous or envious, and I wish peace and good to all.

• Lord, help me to remember that in You there are no “good ” days or “bad ” days; there is only love.

Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

I took me 3 to 4 years to quit smoking. And this is how I didn’t I would plan to quit on Monday’s. For the first time I tried quitting I quit for 2 months after that it was on and off for 3 years. Sometimes I would quit for two days sometimes two weeks. My friends would laugh at me because I was trying to quit. So think that fact that I had my mind made and kept trying and trying I think it drove into mind that wanted to quit.

Many people will make it a New Years resolution but what happens when you break that? There’s only once a year for New Years but with beginning of the week you’ll have more chances so just plan every Monday and keep persisting it worked for me.

Thank you, njlisa, for the prayers to Mary,
she indeed is instrumental to my sanctity,
indeed, my SANITY in this mixed up age!!!
