Inspired by the story of how slain reporter James Foley prayed the Rosary using his knuckles, I made my own way to keep count of 10 Hail Mary’s using just one hand, no beads needed. I have not used beads for praying the Rosary for several weeks now, and because of this I can pray it anytime anywhere in secret.

  1. *]Place thumb (same hand) on index finger’s first joint (the one nearest the knuckle joint)
*]Place thumb on middle finger’s first joint
*]Place thumb on ring finger’s first joint
*]Place thumb on pinkie finger’s first joint
    *]Make a fist
*]Place thumb on pinkie finger’s second joint
*]Place thumb on ring finger’s second joint
*]Place thumb on middle finger’s second joint
*]Place thumb on index finger’s second joint
*]Place thumb’s joint on the long bone of the index finger, forming a cross

Of course, you can make your own ways of doing this.

    God bless!

Yes! I use this method when I walk the track at my local health club. The left hand keeps track of the rosary while the right hand keeps track of the laps I walk (15 laps = 1 mile). I can easily say a rosary while I get my exercise.😃

Hey…i like that idea!!! I always ran while I prayed my rosary, until I tripped, the rosary fell as I slid on the ground, and the rosary sorta broke into like six pieces, and part of the broken medallion gave me a cut in the stomach. It was a big fancy metal one.
How I managed that I dunno but i happened.
So…havent done that since.
BUT I could try this!!!
WHICH thinking of that…is it a sin to throw away a broken rosary?

OUCH! 😦 I hope you’re OK now.

Anyways, so as to minimize the possibility of desecration, it is customary to break down worn and broken sacramentals so that they are unrecognizable as such and bury them. Metallic sacramentals can be melted down and used for other purposes.
