Pray to stop this abortion

Thank you everyone who has been praying for this baby and for the family. This prayer request comes through a friend of a friend, so I don’t know if I’ll hear an update; but if I do, I’ll be sure to let you all know.

Why? We could ask the President-Elect. That’s his solution for any unexpected grandchildren in his own family. Yes, it boggles the mind.

Well, I’m guessing it’s all said and done.

So what happened?
 
Whatever did or didn’t happen, I’ll be praying for this unfortunate girl. I wish all young people could witness the agony of getting pregnant under the wrong circumstances brings.

Having an abortion is a terrible choice all around. Not only is a life lost, but the girl will never get over it. It remains in your mind and heart every minute of every day, even if you confess and receive absolution.

Giving the baby up for adoption is a better choice, but there will always be the regret of not having your child in your life. I have an adult son who doesn’t speak to me, and it breaks my heart every day of the week.

Keeping the baby and trying to raise him alone while you finish school, find employment, intrude on your parents lives…it’s so hard. Even if it turns out wonderful between mother and child, it’s just so much harder to raise a child alone, and he misses out on being in an intact family.

The best choice is to wait until you’re married. Every baby should have both his parents, married and in his life. Please, let’s all continue to pray for both of these souls, and the parents who may have forced this misery on their daughter.
 
I’m with daeve on this one - let’s keep praying for this whole family. Something about this haunts me and won’t go away. I’m still feeling compelled to continue to pray.
 
I still don’t have an update. I have been hoping and praying for a miracle in this situation. I will certainly let you all know as soon as I hear something. Thank you all for your prayers.
 
UPDATE: GOOD NEWS!!!

Got an email forwarded to me through the chain of folks praying for this intention. The priest who originally made this prayer request reports that the abortion did not happen, and that it seems the girl’s parents may have had a change of heart.

The priest writes,
The amazing thing, though, is the response this email has generated. Heaven has been stormed and people have come out of the woodwork with promises of prayers, financial assistance, and help. Couples who want to adopt a baby have come forward. It is amazing what modern technology and the Holy Spirit can do together. As a parish priest, I had a small role in this: asking for your prayers. And it is your response and God’s good grace which has saved a life. We should all continue our prayers, and we should also fulfill any vows we have made to God and to St Gianna Beretta Molla in thanksgiving.

So for right now, the right decision has been made. But she has a long way to go and the pressures of an unexpected pregnancy and those pressuring her in the wrong direction are great indeed. So we must continue to pray.
