I went to confession this morning and the priest said the most beautiful prayer AFTER the absolution. It brought me great peace, as this was a difficult confession. He said I could look it up by the beginning words, which I (of course) can’t remember, being a little emotional at the time. It did mention some saints and my good guardian angel. I’ve searched the web and can’t find anything other than the prayer OF absolution. Can anyone help me find this prayer??

The traditional blessing after the absolution is this:

*May the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merits of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and all the saints, whatever good you have done, and whatever evil you have endured, achieve for you the forgiveness of your sins, an increase of grace and the reward to eternal life. Amen.

This is a nice one, but not the right one. It was quite a bit longer, and named the Saints by name. I may just have to corner Father after Mass and get him to say the first lines and then run fast to the car and write them down! Thanks for trying, though.
