What are the recommended prayer books for Catholics? I want one to take to mass to use in pre-communion prayer. I am in RCIA and want to get the best tools.

Thank you,
Stacey

The Queen of the Apostles Prayerbook, compiled by the daughters of Saint Paul! It is a very lovely book, filled with a bunch of good, traditional Catholic prayers.

May God bless you and keep you on your journey to the One, True faith! 😃

Oh, I haven’t heard of that one before. I have been told the prayers of St. Thomas Aquinas are nice, too. Thanks for the reply.

Merry Christmas,
Stacey

I like that one, too. I also highly recommend Blessed Be God. This is a pre-Vatican II prayer book that’s been reprinted. It has lots of great prayers I haven’t found anywhere else, plus really beautiful artwork.

God bless you! I’m a convert too. Being in the Church is wonderful.😃

I have a St. Joseph’s daily prayer book. You can go to Amazon and compare ratings, page counts, and reviews.:christmastree1:

Many of the Eucharistic Prayers of Saint Thomas Aquinas are included in the Queen of Apostles Prayerbook!

If you type this title in on Google, it will take you right to the Amazon link!

Merry Christmas!

I would suggest “Key of Heaven.” It’s a small pocket sized book but it contains just about every prayer that you’d ever want. There’s a section in the beginning about Catholic doctrine, ten commandments, gifts of the Holy spirit.

From there it goes basic prayers, morning, mid day, night. The order of Mass, devotions for Benediction, Communion, different saints, lot of novenas, Rosary, Stations of the Cross etc.

The only thing I don’t like about my copy is that it’s large print which unfortunately most prayer books are nowadays. If you’re looking for a more traditional (Latin Mass) than “Blessed be God” is basically the same thing but with more traditional devotions and the order of Mass follows the 1962 Missal.
