In the Catechism of the Catholic Church one place favorable for prayer is described in Paragraph 2691:
– For personal prayer, this can be a “prayer corner” with the Sacred Scriptures and icons, in order to be there, in secret, before our Father. In a Christian family, this kind of little oratory fosters prayer in common.
Do you have a prayer corner?:gopray::gopray2:

Hi Cyril,

There was a recent thread here on the forum with a poll attached to it titled, “Do you have a home alter or shrine.”

There are some really nice photos there. Some people have really beautiful places set up for their prayer corners.

Here is the link to that thread, if you would like to see it:

I just have one of my bedroom night tables set up as my prayer corner. It is underneath a crucifix and I have prayer books and framed religious pictures on it. My Rosaries are on it, too.

Oldgraymare2, thank you for the thread. I like landon13’s prayer corner/table with the beautiful prayer cards. Modern Revert has the painting of the Madonna and Child. Very exquisite!:gopray::gopray2:

You’re welcome, Cyril. 🙂

I didn’t want you to miss seeing the thread, plus I didn’t want you to wonder in case you didn’t get that many responses either, as to “why,” since there was a recent thread on a similar topic recently.

Yes–people have some really beautiful areas set up in their homes. I am really impressed by them. Mine is just a little old table, but some have set up really beautiful areas in their homes.
