hi everyone, just wanted to give a quick update on my niece, Carolynn.
The past few days she’s been waking my sister up in the middle of the night telling her that she’s scared about going to the hospital. So my sister cld and inquired about tours for kids undergoing tonsilectomies but no one cld back so she tried several more times with no luck. Carolynn was waking up and crying. This just broke my heart b/c I know what it’s like (I’m going in for surgery 2 weeks after she is & I’ve been through it many during my life time) and the fear of the unknown.
So I started praying for guidance on how I could find a contact name and number so she could go in and tour the facility before her surgery date. Yesterday I was talking to my best friend who’s still running the ostomy support group for me until I can come back. While we were discussing “business”, I brought up how Carolynn was doing and how frustrating it was for Michelle not getting an answer back from Children’s hospital re: her numerous calls. Linda then told me that her husband’s place of employment donates to them and that he may have a contact name and number for Michelle. Sure enough, he did. I gave it to my sister and she got someone who was able to help her set up a tour for Carolynn. I am so happy that my prayers were answered.
Maybe this will alleviate her fears and she won’t be so anxious.
I would do anything for my niece. She gave me a beautiful card for my birthday Monday as well as 2 pictures that she helped her brothers draw as well as a little Webkinz. She explained how I have to name the St. Bernard, set up an account online, and make money to set up a house for my pet. I think I’m going to have to have her come over one day and work with me seeing as I am still very slow at learning after my stroke.
Anyway, God is working miracles for her right now and for that I am truly thankful and blessed. Take care. Lisa
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Hi Everyone, Just another quick update. Carolynn went for the tour at the hospital today. Things went well but the BEST NEWS my brother in law and sister received were that she won’t have to take Carolynn back to the pediatric cardiologist anymore because the
hole in her hear that caused the mitral valve prolapse HAS COMPLETED HEALED UP!!! The doctor said that it’s very rare that it happens but THIS IS TRULY A MIRACLE!!!
My sister has been anointing Carolynn every night w/holy water that a nun had given her from St. Annes (I think).
Everyone can rest easy seeing as the high risk is gone now.
Thank you for your support. Her surgery date is coming up next Tuesday. I will post more information after she is home and resting.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.
Carolynn cld me a few minutes ago to talk. She is in good spirits and is just leaving for the hospital as we speak.
Please pray for the doctor as he does surgery on her as well as the OR staff. Also remember her parents, my folks, and myself that we are given a sense of calm instead of worry. Seeing as the hole in heart was miraculously healed, I am sure that the good Lord is watching over Carolynn as well as her guardian angels.
quick update…Carolynn was scheduled for 1 pm but they didn’t take her until 3:30 pm. she is still at the hospital w/my sister,BIL, and mom. She cld me a few minutes ago…poor thing sounded tired and as if she was crying. They should be home late tonight provided she keeps the liquids down.
My sister told me that she was a real trouper until they came to take her to the OR. Then the tears started flowing. My heart just breaks when I hear that she’s been crying but now she is on the mend. She did ask me to get her 2 Webkinz so I will be off and hunting for them tomorrow.
On behalf of the family, thank you so much for your prayerful support. God Bless.
