Prayer for a specific illness

Hi, I am new here and thought that maybe someone out there may be able to help me. Recently I read in a post from another message board about a Cystic Fibrosis prayer. They had read mention of one in an Irish newspaper article about a funeral. I had never heard of a prayer for a specific illness like Cystic Fibrosis. Since I have just read about this tonight I have not had the chance to ask our priest and thought surely if there were such a prayer he would have mentioned it to us years ago. I know only of prayers for the sick or the sick and dying.

Does anyone here know of such a prayer and if so what is it or where can I find it?

Hi Liza:wave: …and welcome to Catholic Answers. I hope you will find CAF helpful, informative and encouraging!

I did do a search on the web but could not come up with a specific prayer. I also searched for a patron saint too, but had no luck either.

Here are two sites with a comprehensive list, both of them, of patron saints and their patronages. I hope you might find something helpful in them…or that some other CAF (Catholic Answers Forums) member may be able to help with a specific prayer or perhaps a specific patron saint for cystic fibrosis.

Hi Barb, Thanks for your reply. I too have searched the web looking and have not come up with anything for either a prayer or patron saint either. I even went so far as to try and look at the msn, UK/Ireland site with no luck. I had hoped that the little blurp in the Irish Newspaper would have included the prayer but it did not. I hope someone else out there might know of it or which prayer they might have been referring to. I don’t know what luck I may have trying to contact the author of the article but I may try that as well if I don’t have any luck.
