**Prayer for Seminarians
**
O Lord Jesus Christ, great High Priest, I pray that You call many worthy souls to Your holy priesthood.

Enlighten the Bishop in the choice of candidates, the Spiritual Director in molding them, and the professors in instructing them.

Lead the seminarians daily in Your unerring footsteps; so that they may become priests who are models of purity, possessors of wisdom and heroes of sacrifice; steeped in humility and aflame with love for God and man; apostles of Your glory and sanctifiers of souls.

Amen.

Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us.

Saint Charles Borromeo, pray for our seminarians.

Lord, enable these future priests to have a personality that is honest, and rich in virtue, in the semblance of Jesus Christ. Enable them to be men of God, and like Jesus, men for others.Instill in their hearts a real love for the Divine Word, for the Eucharist and for prayer, for the Church and for the doctrine of salvation that she preserves and faithfully proclaims.
Enable them, finally, in preparation for their future ministry, to be more holy every day. Amen.

Prayer to St. Gabriel Possenti

Dear Saint Gabriel, your very name recalls your particular devotion to Christ the Man of Sorrows and to Mary the Afflicted Mother. You died young as a Passionist religious but left to us all an example of a life of Christlike sacrifice. Intercede for our seminarians and young religious who are in desperate need of your patronage amid today’s sensual and selfish world. Amen.

God the Father, I pray for all seminarians this day, and ask You to be with them as they discern their vocation to the priesthood. Have mercy on their foibles, shower them with love, be with them in temptations, give them wisdom, prudence, patience, kindness and an ability to speak to all, both young and old. May they be prayerful, always seeking Your will in all that they do. O God, we need more priests and we especially need priests who have inner strength, peace and dignity. Please grant them all the graces they need to be Your humble servants. Amen.

Prayer for Seminarians

Lord Jesus Christ, we pray for these men whom You have called to discern priesthood. We beg Your continued blessings on our Diocese and families. Call forth even more men of generous spirit and fervent love whom You desire for this holy work. Today, we remember in particular Tyborek and his fellow seminarians. Amen.
St. Joseph, pray for us.
 
Good and gracious God,
in your eternal plan of salvation,
you established a covenant
with your people, giving them a
share in your divine life.

Through the sacraments of the
Church, you continue to sustain the
faith of your beloved sons and daughters.

Hear our prayers for our seminarians.
Through the intercession of Mary,
Mother of the Church, place deep
within their hearts a desire
to do your will, so that they may serve your Church
with joy in the new millennium and
lead your people to holiness.

By the love of the Holy Spirit, inspire
them to follow Jesus your Son,
who is our Lord and Savior for ever and ever.

PRAYER FOR SEMINARIANS

We praise you, merciful Father, for sending your Son into the world to free us from sin, and enrich us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. To continue his mission he sent his apostles, the bearers of his love, to proclaim the Gospel to all peoples and offer believers new life through Baptism and the Eucharist.

Look kindly, Lord, on the men who train for the priesthood, especially Tyborek and seminarians within my diocese. Inspire them with perseverance and courage so that they may reach their goal of ordination and continue the work of the apostles in today’s world.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
