*** Lord Jesus, once You called the first disciples in order to make them fishers of men. Continue to let resound today Your sweet invitation:

" Come and follow Me."

Grant to young men and women the grace of responding promptly to Your voice. Sustain our Bishops, priests and consecrated souls in their apostolic work. Give perseverance to our seminarians and to all who are fulfilling the ideal of a life of total consecration to Your service. Enkindle in our communities a missionary zeal. Send, Lord, workers into Your fields and do not let mankind be lost because of a lack of pastors, missionaries, and people dedicated to the cause of the Gospel. Mary, Mother of the Church, model of vocations, help us say “yes” to the Lord who calls us to collaborate in the divine design of salvation. Amen. †

Prayer for a Seminarian

God our Father, You have chosen Your Son, Jesus Christ, to reveal Yourself to us. You
have chosen Your Church to show us Your love through Him.

You have chosen each young man, your son, to be a priest as a sign of that love to Your people.

We pray that the Holy Spirit continue to fill him with Your peace and joy as he prepares for the holy priesthood.

We pray that through his priesthood he may proclaim the wonder of Your faithfulness and love to all through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Amen.
 
Prayer to St. Gabriel Possenti

Dear Saint Gabriel, your very name recalls your particular devotion to Christ the Man of Sorrows and to Mary the Afflicted Mother. You died young as a Passionist religious but left to us all an example of a life of Christlike sacrifice. Intercede for our seminarians and young religious who are in desperate need of your patronage amid today’s sensual and selfish world. Amen.
 
Some news!
The son/grandson of friends of mine entered the seminary in Nebraska on September 6th to become an FSSP priest.
He has spent most of his Sundays serving at the altar since he was old enough. Now he is worried about learning Latin and Chant. Philosophy is something he enjoys reading on his own.
Please pray for Jaylen.

**O Lord Jesus Christ, great High Priest, I pray that You call many worthy souls to Your holy priesthood.

Enlighten the Bishop in the choice of candidates, the Spiritual Director in molding them, and the professors in instructing them.

Lead the seminarians daily in Your unerring footsteps; so that they may become priests who are models of purity, possessors of wisdom and heroes of sacrifice;
steeped in humility and aflame with love for God and man; apostles of Your glory and sanctifiers of souls.
Amen.
