Dear Friends in Christ:
On Dec. 28, I will undergo a steroid injection in my lower back. The next few days will determine whether the shot works. Please pray that my pain is lessened. Or, if not, that I will join my suffering and pain to that of Our Savior Jesus Christ.

Prayer for Persons with Chronic Illness and Pain

The God of all grace who called You to His eternal glory
through Christ [Jesus] will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen,
and establish you after you have suffered a little. (1 Peter 5:10)

God of Compassion, You willingly took on our human condition
to experience the same pain, suffering, and death that we do.
Through Your Son’s resurrection, You transformed suffering
and death into new life and glory; and invite us to join our own
pain and struggles to those of Jesus. Increase the faith and
hope of all who are suffering, especially those living with
chronic illness and pain. Strengthen and confirm in them
the promise of new life and glory. We pray this through
the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes and in the name
of your Son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Sorry to hear you are suffering with back pain. I will pray that your steroid injection alleviates or lessens your pain.

This is fantastic news … so many times the first shot doesn’t work … it’s great that it did … hoping and praying for a full recovery.

I’ve had these shots … don’t give up with just one … sometimes you need two to get the job done … you are in my prayers.
