Prayer for chastity

Hello,

I have posted on this topic before. I thank you for your prayers previously. I believe that they really helped. However, I fell in the area of masturbation again. I know I need to stop giving in to this sin, so I have disciplined myself to confess it to others when I do, which is humiliating to me. So that’s what I’m doing now. What’s even more humiliating is that I had homosexual fantasies while I did it. Please pray for me that I take the steps I need to take to pursue chastity and address the issue of my disordered desires. (I do not remember always having a homosexual orientation or inclinations, but seem to have slipped into them over the years. I don’t know if it is permanent or if it can be addressed and/or rectified.)

I am in RCIA and have met with the priest once, but I haven’t brought up this issue and I don’t know if I should. I love the things of God and want to grow in holiness, but this is one of my major issues that I need to work on now.

I am also still connected to my former evangelical church.

Pray also that I would grow in charity and willingness to submit to God’s will.

Definitely talk to your pastor. He can help you more than you think.
I would recommend that you constantly pray, even when you don’t feel like it, or if you are embarrassed. It is vital as I have witnessed first-hand what can happen if you don’t pray for even one day. If you find yourself tempted, say “Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.” Keep repeating it until you no longer feel the urge. And then, if you can, try to get a hymn stuck in your head. Just start humming one hymn you like and the rest will work itself out.
I will pray for you for a whole week. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
