There is always a "deficit of courage."We try to live spiritual lives in an almost entirely secular & judgmental world. At this eve of the extended Independence Day weekend, I find it reassuring to reflect on Washington during our formative years, away from home 9 years with a mission to hold together a ragtag army of volunteers against impossible odds and under extreme hardship. Or Lincoln, fighting what we now call acute clinical depression by sheer refusal to capitulate & holding together the union during a bitter & bloody war while surrounded by fools & cowards. Such reflections make my own “speed bump crisis management” seem trivial, manageable, non-negotiable in the face of duty. My 1st post.
