I feel like I am in a rut. I am stuck in a collaboration on a project that I don’t care about, working on it for free on the prospect of it eventually becoming something. My partner has a vision for this project that I really am not that excited about, and while I have no intention of leaving him in the lurch, I just wish I had never joined this project, because it is a drain on my financially, mentally and spiritually. I believe God wants me to do a body of work for the project that is reasonable that won’t leave my partner in the lurch, and then move on.
That leaves me with the thing that continues to tear away at me, and that’s the fact that apart from this thing, I have no clear path for my life. It seems that all the direction I’m getting from my spiritual director and my therapists is to just tackle things a day at a time, which is very hard for me to do. But since Jesus did teach to take no thought for tomorrow, I guess I can see their wisdom (but does that mean that we can’t have dreams, or make plans?). I guess I’m just really discontent, and I need God’s grace to get through this, and to especially obey my Spiritual Director.
