My ex-girlfriend who has been separated from me for three months is now attempting to approach me in extreme desparation. She claims she made the biggest mistake in the world breaking up with me, and that she cannot go a single day without the immense suffering entailed by our separation. We frequently engaged in fornication throughout our relationship and ever since separating with her I have felt such a massive cleansing and purification by being chaste and re-establishing my relationship with Christ the way I was meant to as His child. Please pray for me so that God may illuminate to me the correct decision to take. Pray that I may have the courage to respond to the decision He wants me to take, no matter how hard it may be. The thing is that I love this woman so much. I underwent an unexplainably deep experience of euphoria during our relationship together. All I want to do is obey God. Only if we can be chaste will I ever want to be with her. I am having trouble discerning whether or not this is God giving us a second chance together, or whether it is the enemy trying to deter me from the path God is showing me…
My heart, mind and soul feel very troubled… Please pray to our Almighty Father, His Son, and His Holy Spirit to give me the strength and courage to respond to God’s calling.

I’m praying for you, and encourage you to talk to your priest about this. If you haven’t already confessed your sin of fornication, then do so immediately. It may be a near occasion of sin to go out with her again.

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

**O God,
who from among all your angels
chose the Archangel Gabriel
to announce the mystery of the Incarnation,
mercifully grant that we
who solemnly remember him on earth
may feel the benefit of his patronage in heaven,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Amen. **

I pray for your discernment. If you want to pursue this relationship again you could sit down and have a heart to heart conversation with her that you have committed yourself to chastity and share with her the massive cleansing and purification you have felt. Set boundaries that are strict so she is not a near OR real occasion of sin for you if you do reinstate your relationship

If the relationship is not for you at this point in time I feel you will come to see this quickly if you give her another chance if impurity is the issue. If there are other issues then of course you must take those into consideration as well then the issue is more complicated.
Prayers for you and God bless.
Mary.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Discernment Prayer of Thomas Merton

“O Lord God, I have no idea where I am going, I do not see the road ahead of me, I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, And that fact that I think I am following Your will Does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe That the desire to please You Does in fact please You. And I hope I have that desire In all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything Apart from that desire to please You. And I know that if I do this You will lead me by the right road, Though I may know nothing about it. Therefore I will trust You always Though I may seem to be lost And in the shadow of death. I will not fear, For You are ever with me, And You will never leave me To make my journey alone.”

Amen.

(Beautiful prayer.)

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Still going through discernment and have scheduled a time to talk with a priest. Thank you all so much.

A prayer:

Thank You, Lord, for gifting us all with each other. We form one body, which is Your body, and we each have been entitled with Your possessions in some way, shape, and form. Help us so that we may capitalize upon the use of these possessions to help each other see Your light more clearly. Please guide us, protect us, save us, forgive us, have mercy on each and every single one of our souls, and do not let us ever be distracted from the one true path which is the one You have paved out for us. Keep our eyes focused on You and only You. We love You so dearly, Lord, and we desire to one day sing in one harmonious hymn the exaltation of Your glory with all of the thrones and dominions of Heaven. We praise You, we bless You, we adore You, O God Almighty Father.
We make this prayer, and we make all prayers through Your poor, chaste, obedient and divine Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
