Prayer for fallen away Catholic family Members

Dear St. Monica,
troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion
of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant to us that same fortitude, patience,
and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for us, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear our pleas
for all non practising Catholics
and those discerning conversion to Catholicism,
for our families, including mine, for increase of faith for us,
especially all in this thread. Amen.
 
Father in heaven have compassion on the desires of all parents, and all on this thread, who long for their children, or their spouses, or their siblings, to return to You and to the Church.
Have compassion on my family.
In the name of Your Son, please return our loved ones to You and to the Church.

I would like to add to all these other prayers my prayers for my son who has recently left home and moved in with his girlfriend and now treats us as if we have ceased to exist. Please, St Monica and St Augustine, pray for all children who have been drawn away from the faith. “No-one can come to me unless the Father draw them.” Father, please draw them back. Everything is possible for God. Father, you do not want puppets who are conditioned to obey you, but you do know how to move people’s hearts to accept you through the circumstances and influences of their lives. Please create those circumstances and encounters in each one of these children’s lives that will lead them to acknowledge and want to serve you. Lord, please give encouragement to all who are praying for their children - help them not to give up and become complacent.

To all fellow pray-ers: don’t turn your sadness in on yourself and get depressed. Stay confident in God - this also helps to defeat Satan. Praying for all the strength you need, and then some.

Blessed Monica, mother of St. Augustine, we give thanks to our Father in heaven Who looked with mercy upon your tears over your wayward son. His conversion and heroic sanctification were the fruit of your prayers. Dear St. Monica, we now ask you to pray with us for all those sons and daughters (and friends or family) that have wandered away from God, and to add your prayers to those of all mothers who are worried over their children. Pray also for us that, following your example, we may, in the company of our children, one day enjoy the eternal vision of our Father in heaven.
