A special prayer thread for St. Monica to intercede for our fallen away family members.

Let us all support one another in prayer for those who have family members who have wandered from the faith.

PRAYER TO ST. MONICA***

Dear St. Monica,
troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion
of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant me that same fortitude, patience,
and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for me, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear my plea for

(Mention your intention here.)

and grant me the grace to accept His Will in all things,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.

Amen.

Add your family to the list of those we shall pray for daily.

Besides praying to Saint Monica, The following is a prayer to St. Jude:

PRAYER TO ST. JUDE

“Most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Make use I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly (here make your request) and that I may praise God with you and all the elect forever. I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen.”

THREE O’CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON THE HOUR OF GREAT MERCY

“A remembrance, then, of the hour in which the saving death of Jesus was accomplished;… St. Faustina penned these words of Our Lord: …'In this hour you can obtain everything for yourself and for others for the asking; it was the hour of grace for the whole world—mercy triumphed over justice.”

a "little prayer, taught to Saint Faustina by our Lord,…

****O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us. I trust in You (Diary, 84)."

In Jesus’ name, Father, please return our loved ones to You and the Church and lead them to live the fullness of Your loving will.
Please comfort and reassure all who grieve the absence of loved ones from the Sacraments. Please answer our prayers for them.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

For some reason I’ve not posted on this thread but since it keeps slapping me in the face I think I better listen:o

For both my sisters who have left the Church and especially for my younger sister and BIL who have hard feelings towards the CC because of what they don’t understand… Also for my other S&BIL who seem to have little faith… Thankyou for your prayers

Thank you, I really needed to “hear” this Prayer. I do have family and friends who have fallen away from the Catholic faith/family.
