Prayer for fallen away Catholic family Members

Dear St. Monica,

Troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion
of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant to us that same fortitude, patience,
and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for us, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear our pleas
for all non practicing Catholics and those
discerning conversion to Catholicism. Amen.

Exemplary Mother of the great Augustine, you perseveringly pursued your wayward son not with wild threats but with prayerful cries to heaven.
Intercede for all mothers in our day so that they may learn to draw their children to God. Teach them how to remain close to their children, even the prodigal sons and daughters who have sadly gone astray. Amen.

Please pray for my sister and her family and for a family that used to belong to our Church but suddenly stopped attending.
 
Tender Heart of Jesus, you read all hearts and see into the dark and inexplicable recesses of the souls of all people. Forgive us, blessed Lord, all our failings, weaknesses and rebellions in the life of our faith. Look kindly, especially, on those who, for whatever reason, have lost their way. You know, as we do, that they still seek you, Who are all good and Who are the beginning and the end, the source and the culmination of their heart’s desires.

Like the one lost sheep, find them, Jesus; heal them and carry them home. Show them, in the very depths of their hearts, the immensity of Your love for them and arrange things so that they will ultimately be convinced that You have never left them and cradle them, still, in your arms. Let all those who are now far from their homeland, realize that they have nothing to fear from the hands pierced for them. Especially our children, grown though they may be; and our grandchildren, all of whom we now entrust to Your care and whose bodies and souls we confidently, with total trust, commend into Your hands - and into the infinite ocean of Your Divine Mercy. Jesus, we trust in You!! Through the intercession of John Paul II and St. Faustina, we ask for the gifts dearest to our hearts - and Yours…the souls of our children and grandchildren, our family members and relatives - so that one day we will all praise and thank You, forever and ever. In Jesus’ name, Father, please return our loved ones to You and the Church and lead them to live the fullness of Your loving will.
Please comfort and reassure all who grieve the absence of loved ones from the Sacraments. Please answer our prayers for them.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless,

look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself.
