Dear St. Monica,
troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion
of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant me that same fortitude, patience,
and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for me, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear my plea for
those mentioned on this thread to include
All my relatives who have fallen away from the Church
and grant me the grace to accept His Will in all things,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.

Perhaps this should be on a new and different thread but I just wanted to ask these questions here since I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who has these questions or struggles with this.

Is anyone hurt when people ridicule Catholics or the Catholic Church? Or when a loved one says they are no longer Catholics, don’t consider themselves Catholics, and so forth? When people try to “prove” how wrong the Catholic church is?

To answer all of these questions yes and I am.
